If you have an Amazon account, get the market place app. It gives a charged app for free everyday. A lot of otherwise paid apps you can get for free, which a lot can be very useful.

There's Sports Tap - good spots app for scores. Pretty up to date.

Sound Hound or Shazaam - Music reading app. It will tell you what song it is just by hearing it.

Pandora Radio - Radio streaming app. Might suck more than it used to, so there are other alternatives like Spotify or Grooveshark

Can't think of anything more at the moment, but there is almost an unlimited amount of useful apps, you just gotta dig for them.

I beat the first three levels of the Amazon version and I'm forever stuck on the same level on the fourth stage.

Was reading a bit about SGSIII

The specifications for the SGSIII are of course subject to change, but are Samsung-developed 2.0GHz quad-core CPU (no codename given), 1.5gb RAM, 32gb internal memory (with sd card slot), and a 4.65 inch screen. A new display called Super AMOLED III is being developed specifically for the phone (SGS had Super AMOLED, SGS II had Super AMOLED Plus, SGS III has Super AMOLED III) with 1280x1024 resolution, giving the phone a ppi of 352, which they emphasized that a 352ppi will make it the highest ppi mobile phone.

Holy ****!

Phone post from new Galaxy SII!!! Thanks Alex, really happy with it so far. Any app recommendations?

ADW launcher ex, Go Launcher or Launcher Pro. I think they're much better than the default Touchwiz launcher...only disadvantage is you lose some if the Samsung widgets. But there are better replacements anyway. Things like Beautiful weather and widgets.

I also use handcent for sms. Better than stock app I think. Just make sure you turn notifications off in the stock app. Go sms is meant to be good too.

I have also installed Litening Rom from the xda forums, which is good. Runs a bit faster and roots for you. Which means you can use things like Titanium Backup.

Samsung stock launcher really sucks major balls. I use LauncherPro on my SGS. Tried ADW and Go Launcher but they lag. Launcher Pro is the smoothest.

I use Go SMS because the stock messaging app sucks as well.

Smart Keyboard is also great. Very customizable and much faster and responsive.

I've tried loads of keyboards, swype is the best. Not sure why you'd use anything else! I do like swiftkey though too. But once you get used to swyping, you can't go back. So nothing but keyboards with a swype like function will do!

I've never had lag issues with ADW. On but SGS when I had it, or my SGS2. But I randomly change between ADW ex and LauncherPro. And was running Go Launcher for a while. Go Launcher and LP have the advantage of their own widgets, but generally you can find equivalents on the market anyway. ADW has a few little settings I like, but to be honest all three are pretty similar.

Launcher7 is also great if you want a windows phone 7 set up.

Oh, also Touchwiz on SGS2 is improved from SGS. Obviously I still prefer others that are more customisable. But it's decent, and integrates all the social apps well.
Stock messaging app is ok too, but not being able to change colours annoys me, and I HATE that it doesn't display full messages for long messages, makes you click on it and open it. Really annoying and defeats the purpose of conversation layout.

Biggest problem I have is that the ******* phone came with no words in its dictionary, so swyping isn't possible. Guess I should download a dictionary or something.

******* hell, the problem was I had changed the language to Spanish without realizing it. Works a treat now.

Hahahaha that'll do it!

Takes a little bit to get good at, but once you do it's awesome! Unless I'm drunk, then I realise I've accidentally added a load of new words that don't exist (somehow).
