Celtic and Rangers to finally be allowed to play FA Cup?

I just read an article (ill post it back in a little while) stating that after many tries, Celtic and Rangers have a big chance of atleast playing the Enlgish FA Cup next season.

God I hope so for the sake of Scotish football. (and it would be awesome to see Celtic/Man U or Arsenal/Rangers...


what do u guys think?

Overall id like to see Celtic and Rangers play in the FA cup, they are 2 good teams and it will give them competiton they dont necessarily get in the SPL. Id like to see Man Utd beat Celtic, after we beat Rangers last year (H)

Anyway they'd get battered. Cetlica nd RAngers would be mid-table sides in England.

Yeah they have unfortunately and we cant let it happen again.

The Welsh are another story they are part of our league structure therefore play in our cups

Don't get me wrong i have nothing against the Scottish clubs but it undermines the structure of football in Britain and it makes another ludicrous case for a "British" international team. That's just to mention a few of the reasons why i'm against it.

Rangers AND Queen's Park have already played in the FA Cup. And both have reached the semis.

So How many times have United beaten Celtic in all the times they have met?

I can think of 4 Utd wins!

but seriously... Arsenal, chelsea, man utd, Liverpool nad a few others can easily bet any SPL team on teh day.

Bellamy and Hartson up front for Celtic.. SCAAAARY! The most worriying thing would to try to stop Balde killing our players.

And for Rangers... NOT Prso and Novo! They'll strike fear into Chelsea's defense ¬_¬

I am in favour of this, I would actually like to see Celtic and Rangers allowed to enter the Championship - we have Welsh teams so why not Scottish - and really, there's no compitition for them up there.

You forget that

1) There are Welsh teams playing in the English League System
2) There is one ENGLISH Team (Berwick Rangers) in the SCOTTISH League System.

Beyond that, there are Canadian Teams in United States Professional Leagues, and many other cases where international sport takes place in a "national" league.

At the very least, it would give you a chance to prove your point, that Scottish teams are crap. If Rangers and Celtic get eliminated regularly by teams like Portsmouth and Fulham, then maybe the Scottish football elite isn't as elite as they believe.

Welsh teams play in the English leagues namely the three professional ones. Fair does this suits Wales.

This thread is about Scottish teams namely Ranges and Celtic joining the FA cup. For this to be done surely Rangers and Celtic would need to be in the English league structure? What about all the other professional clubs in Scotland? This is a whole different ball game to Wales which has just 3 smallish professional clubs.

Now you can't just let several Scottish teams in and let the others rot in the Scottish system. The Scottish system needs to be reformed somehow.

I'll have a guess at what he's trying to say Bobby.

I think he means they should join the English League first but start in one of the non-league conferences like the Rymans or whatever.

If that's what he meant then it's still rubbish.
