Celtic and Rangers to finally be allowed to play FA Cup?

I really don't see the big problem with 2 Scottish teams playing in an English cup competition, heck I don't see the prob with them simply joining the EPL.

Perhaps if there was a single British league, the BFL (British Football League) then British football as a whole would make big strides in all parts of the country (how I'm not really sure but having a single league would sure make having FSC worthwhile. :P )

BTW (offtopic) but do you English/Scottish fans think of yourselves more as English or Scottish then British?

This would be great news. I would like to see Rangers and Celtic in the EPL. Hey let them start in the championship first! Both of them would walk it.

And to all the people who think Rangers and Celtic would get battered in the EPL. Please start thinking with your heads.

Do you not realise the amount of investment both clubs would get? Especially in Celtic’s case. Investors in north America are waiting to flood Celtic with £££.

More money means better players. Also if they were in the EPL they would both be able to attract bigger players who do not wanna play in the SPL.

That would be awsome. Hearing a match like LIverpool vs Rangers is just exciting. The only thing is if they have to start in a 1st division or lower league i don't think their players would stay with the team. I wouldn't mind seeing them try to qualify against the regulated teams and the teams qualifyinfg for promotion from league 1.

it still will be the EPL plus Celtic and Rangers, 'cos all other non-english clubs are too weak.

they are too weak because they don't have money.. hearts, aberdeen or hibs with EPL money prizes, TV rights etc, would be more competitive.

Unit the pyramids of all home britain nations.

Come on i would like to hear some of the Rangers and Celtic fans tell us how they would do this?

Extend the premierleague to 22 teams? If not then you have to restrict it to just one team coming up from the CCC in the first season or relegate five from the premier league to make space for them, hardly fair is it?

I just don't see why we should accommodate two over achieving Scottish clubs because they've no competition. Make you're own league competitive with wage caps and quotas on the foreign players. Who's next? Hearts and Hibs when they start dominating?

I tell you one thing if it was the other way around the Scots wouldn't want the English in their league i tell you that now!

my view is the old firm should stay where they are.

whose view did i criticise btw?

As for us not accepting an English team here we have had an english team playing in our league for many years now, Berwick Rangers and i don't hear anyone in scotland wanting them booted out.

Carlos*y you know what i mean. Let's say Manchester United and Chelsea were in a similar position to Celtic and Rangers. Would you want them in the SPL?

Put Rangers and Celtic in the 1st division. thats the best way. the players would stay as they know for a fact that they will be in the EPL the following year.

Rangers And Celtic would then put Reserve sides in the SPL. this means that they still get a good level of competition.

i remember a few years back when we hear the news about the trans-atlantic league. Rangers and celtic with teams from portugal, Holland, Belgium Etc.

This was a good idea and would of generated more TV money for all the clubs. all of them are in the same position as rangers and celtic.

UEFA put a stop to it though!! :(

Maybe the English and Scottish FA should create something similar to the Scandinavian Royal League. Probably top three in Scotland vs 5th-8th in England vs top 2 from Ireland and top from Northern Ireland.
