Zakov;2874493 said:Yeah I know, but like I said if both of them are picked I assume only one of them would be starting but both should be taken anyways. As a coach, you'll want the best players available. But this is Diego we're talking about.
Dytza;2874298 said:With the "playing football" fact I wasn't talking about this game. You can't deny they played great against you.
Inter just won the triplete, do you feel any proximity between the strength of this season's Inter and last season's Barça? Why do you think they aren't considered by so many people the best team of last period or maybe the best of all time?! It's not because of Mourinho or any other player... It's about the way they got this triplete.
night;2874498 said:Well said. Now try conveying that same point to some of the Barca fans on SG and see where that gets you..
Nady;2874664 said:They're not gonna be considered as the best team ever because its an average team TBH. The manager is great. He has great tactics which all worked.
Not every team is gifted with Messis, Xavis, Iniestas, Puyols you know.
But to say that Inter won with "antifootball" is stupid. They won with TACTICS. If tactics is antifootball to you, then you have no clue. I'm not referring only to you, but to everyone who bring up talks of "antifootball".
EDIT: why did you have to bring up the United game? There is no relation with our discussion... I never denied that Bayern played well against us.
ArgVega;2874679 said:Most of us agree that Inter was a fair finalist, and now champion. We don't care for Inter's style of play because it is boring to us, but we understand that defence is just as important as attack, but I'm sure plenty of people out there don't care for us. Its a two way street out there, and sometimes I feel were not the only ones who are narrow minded...
"antifootball" is a TACTIC as you put it, it is a nickname given when a team chooses to defend all game and counter whenever they can with 1 or 2 players. We understand defence is part of the game, and as Mou has proved it wins champions, Inter attacked the teams it had to, but defended when it had to. Thats good coaching and we have never denied that. We don't like "antifootball", and some people don't like "total football", its up to everyones opinion, but they are both equally part of the game.
maybe he brought up the Bayern game to say that Barca fans aren't the only one's who thought their elimination was a bit cruel. I think both ManU and Barca fans were a little ungracious in their defeat...
Nady;2874691 said:"total football" is a philosophy rather than a tactic. Tactics don't have a place in Barcelona.
Nady;2874691 said:Well "antifootball" is not a suitable nickname for tactics then. Because tactics are part of the game. "total football" is a philosophy rather than a tactic. Tactics don't have a place in Barcelona.
I don't think Inter defended against Bayern btw. They just sat back and let Bayern play and keep possession and do nothing with the ball. They just made sure that Bayern couldn't break through the defense. They didn't put 10 men in the box like the second against Barca (in fact 9).
About the United game, that was just a knee jerk reaction from us. Getting beaten 4-4 on away goals, with us being 10 men down is very hard to swallow you know. The first 40 minutes were just amazing. We were 3-0 up then everything went wrong from that. Its hard to swallow but we accepted defeat in the end. No one complained or whatsoever...
ArgVega;2874733 said:I didn't mean all tactics are "antifootball", I meant "antifootball" is one of the many tactics there are. As I said its just a nickname fans gave to it, not much more than that, attack and defence are both equally important.
Inter played great final, and I don't think they only defended. Like I said Mou knows when to defend and when to attack, he is a smart coach, and showed it this year by planning games perfectly.
ArgVega;2874733 said:We have tactics at Barcelona, we press when we don't have the ball, we use constant position rotation, and our midfield circulates the ball until a penetrating pass is found, our wingbacks have constant freedom down the flanks, 1 touch passing, pulling Messi to the middle. Those are all instructions given by Pep, the guy is on his feet all game giving instructions. I remember we were 4-0 up on Valladolid on the last day and he called Keita over to give instructions
