We gave Matic away for Luiz. I disagreed with the move at the time, I think we should have loaned him out and paid more money, but whatever, we still came out winning.

I agree with the article, too. Mou will not gain much from coming to Chelsea, that said, maybe he just wants stability? London is a great city toi live in, his children already have friends there, he would be treated like a God and can just comfortably build a dominating side for a few years. Also, lots and lots of money.

If he's always as good as yesterday it was a huge mistake to let him go...

As I said, I did not approve of shipping him out. Haven't seen him play since he featured for us (unless he played against us last year), but I'd wager that David Luiz has a higher ceiling.

Oh fuck if Chelsea and Bayern win the Europa and CL, we can have a Mourinho vs. Pep in the opening of the season. Media are wetting themselves already.

First back to back Supercup losers!

When asked which goal did he like better, the shot against Fulham or the one against Basel, David said he preferred the next one. Gotta love that kid.

Lewandowski is better, younger and less expensive. I would rather have Lukaku than Dzeko. That said, if we're bringing in a striker we should loan Lukaku somewhere (Dortmund? (H)), we won't manage to get rid of Torres, anyway.

We COULD get rid of Torres if we offered him as part exchange for Falcao, we may not get much of a discount but we would get rid of him.

I think Lukaku would benefit for another year on loan at an EPL club, West Brom is fine by me, I trust Clarke to develop him. Then we can shunt Ba on when he comes back and have Falcao - Dzeko - Lukaku.

If you guys would have kept your hands of Ba, Newcastle wouldn't be where they are now :(
I dont give a fuck, I would quite like them to get relegated so we can buy Tiote and Cabaye on the cheap.

Please not Dzeko. We do not need him, I think I'd prefer Ba, especially given that we already have Ba and Dzeko would cost more than his worth.

Also, Atleti aren't going to take Torres in any deal. His wages are huge, they can't afford him, and I see no reason for him to take a wage cut, when he can wait out his contract and then go to whatever club pays him (or then go to Atleti, having pocketed the rest of his wages).

Right now Falcao would cost 60m, if we do manage to trade in Torres, how much of a price knock would we get? 10m? 5m? None at all? Certainly not 20m which would put the deal on the same level as Lewandowski. Just not worth it. Torres is a financial black hole, but right now he's serviceable as a 3rd choice, so it's not worth giving him to Atleti for practically no benefit.

I dont think Falcao will got 60m. I think he will make it clear that he wants to go and Athletico need money and they will find there are not quite as many suitors as they expected, so I think a deal could be done for 45m or 40m + Torres. We would have so subsidize some of Torres' wages.

Dzeko would be 20-25m and a bargain at that price, and I think he is far superior to Ba, honestly, given a proper chance he could be great, he plays so well these days when he does get a chance. And he is a hard worker and doesnt need to lead the line, him and Falcao could play on the pitch together.

Not that I would mind getting Lewandowski, it would be nice for us to actually sign a big striker who is in form for a change, but I am concerned a little that he hasnt yet had enough achievements and a long enough period behind him to justify that price tag. Dont forget that Dortmund is very much a collective team and maybe a lot of the good things he has done over those past two years would not be replicated in a new team, Falcao has proved that moving to a stronger team with stronger support makes him even better and there's no reason to suppose he would not step up again if he came to the Bridge
