Chelsea Ban Veron & Crespo

If I was in charge of Chelsea I'd take advantage of this stipulation.

WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULDN'T?

Since the dawn of time managers and team members have done all they could to avoid difficulty in their matches. Don't you think Brazil was happy in the WC final when they heard Ballack wasn't able to play? That made their game a lot easier.

It's a simple tactic that anyone would use if given the option. Why not take advantage?

Call them pussies but it's a smart move no matter what any of you may think.

The skill they have isn't the point, if you don't want to risk playing against them, don't loan them out.

skill DOES matter. its a big difference if Volz has a good game for Fulham in the EPL against Arsenal, because even if he had the game of his life, it wouldnt change much. But if Veron or Crespo have a game of their life against Chelsea in the semis of the CL or something like that, it matters.

I bet Veron, like Crespo, signed a contract like Crespo where he can play against Chelsea in the CL.

I have never seen a loan deal where a player can't play against his former club when the loan is to a club outside the league.

makes sense, i guess. i think it's a bitch move by the releasing club, but if inter and milan (in this case) agreed to it, what can you do right?

just sucks for the player. if i were veron and crespo, i would be devastated if it ever came down to that.

Chelsea did this to Forssel too, they are wusses
anyway they likely wont meet in the group phase since they will likely be in the second pot with both Milan and Inter

You guys think this way...Chelsea gave world class player for free, i'm sure milan and Inter didnt complain about those players missing one game, it would be a lot worse if they had to pay for them...they are Chelsea property...and if that Cl final episode occures with Crespo..well, he atleast had the chance to play that far in the CL, if he was at Chelsea he wouldnt even play the group stage...Its good for both parts, more then fair imo...Chelsea is no charity institution..

I'm the manager of Starbucks. I hired an employee, but I loaned him to the store across the street Tarbucks and I'm playing half his salary. Under my contract I wouldn't let him work at that store during the hours I'm open. That's if you think business-wise.

Okay, bad example. (H) Chelsea are afraid of getting their ass kicked by loaned out players! :p How lower can you go?

I think it would be more the disadvantage that another player would have to be fitted into the team for that one match against Chelsea. They don't fear the player, but the team.
