To AC Milan.... With Jose :p

Keep him... and jose can go somewhere else to, don't get me wrong they're both phenomenal, but we're fine like it is. What is not broken, doesn't need fixing! :)

So, you get your first home win in Serie A, and everything is going well? Talk about lowered standards...

No, i just needed to see how Pato will work out with Kaka' and Ronaldo, if we won with Gilardino in the first 11 i wouldn't be so enthusiastic, but for me this attack has the same quality as barcelona's ronaldinho, eto'o and messi two years ago. I wouldn't want another good striker to disrupt this.

Di Santo set to soar to fame

CHELSEA’S new recruit Franco Di Santo has described the thought of playing alongside Didier Drogba as “something out of another world” as he gets set to leave for London at the end of the week.
The Blues paid STG3.4 million (RM23m) to Chilean club Audax Italiano to secure the services of Di Santo and he is all set to leave his homeland of Argentina to join up with his new team mates over the weekend.

In a good early sign for Chelsea fans, Di Santo laughed off suggestions the weather would be an issue for him once he makes the move to London.

“For me I like the cold and rain, so in that aspect there is no problem. If I want to prevail I must adapt to how it is,” he told Olé.

He was then asked whether he can believe the speed of his rise of fame, to which he replied that it has come as a major surprise to him to reach so many mile stones early in his career.

“No, for not all. In the year and a bit I have been playing so much has happened. I played in the Copa Libertadores and I played for the Under-20 national team in the South American tournament in Paraguay,” said Di Santo.

“In just a very short time, I have achieved things that few have.

This makes me very happy ... It seems like it was just yes terday when, at 14-years-old, I went by myself to the other side of the Mountain range in Chile with this dream.”

Di Santo was excited about moving to Chelsea and linking up with the world-renowned players who are already at the club, whom he hopes to learn from and improve his game.

“I have the idea to go to learn. It is going to be a dream for me to be next to Didier Drogba, So lomon Kalou, Frank Lampard, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Andriy Shevchenko and Nicolas Anelka, who they bought recently.

“I am going to watch how they play and if I am called on to be part of the team, I will be pre pared to give my maximum and do what I do best. I will fulfil whatever the manager Avram Grant requests of me; that is if I understand it.”

“I always speak with my father, Jorge.

“To be in clothes, changing next to Drogba will be something out of another world. I am going to help him tie his laces. I must become used to being around these players since now they will be my teammates.

“I hope to reach those heights, although I have a long way to go ... I do not wish to disappoint those who have trusted in me, especially the people of Mendoza.

“I want to help the unemployed where I was born and football in my province,” he said.

Di Santo sounds like a nice kid with some sound principles. I hope he does well for himself at Chelsea and makes his dad proud. He is obviously very excited at the thought of being here, and although he might be a little overawed atthe moment, once he stands up and sings his initiation song, in front of the other players, he will be accepted in like everyone is at Chelsea. Then it's just a matter of seeing what he can do on the pitch I guess. Good luck to him.

His first name is Franco. Could that be an omen I wonder. :)

well, we've got Everton coming up...after what happened last night, it showed that the young Arsenal team ain't that great after all....so no worries for yer, Nettles XD

Lets hope we can finish Everton tonight and get to the final....
cheers

Looks like Frank is still out for tonight, but it looks like SWP will be there. Everton have more worries over missing players than we have anyway. I too hope we make it to the final.

Great Spurs result last night.Always nice to see Arsenal humiliated. Can you believe the gooners who claim that it doesn't matter. Total bollocks. It mattered enough for Adebayor and Bendtner to come to blows on the pitch over it. Bendtner had some blood thanks to an intentional Adebayor head butt. The FA are investigating. Red cards could follow. nice.

A trophy is a trophy, and after winning nothing for 3 years, I would have thought Wenger would have taken anything that he could get. An underachieving club should perhaps not set their sights so high as to look down on any cup competition.

Anyway, lets stuff Everton tonight and look forward to playing the Spuds at Wembley.

C'MON U BLUES:)

Nettles

Youth Team
nah, taking it somewhat easy was what was needed and what they did, Cole did it again.

anelka had some good chances, but I didn't see the point of playin a lone striker. and Sidwell started :)

That's what Arsenal should be doing, maybe throw in a few reserves or youngre players, but have a core group of first level players in a trophy you can actually win.

and Spurs have had a bad season but they're still not a walk over, but here's hoping to at least one trophy this season.

YELLOW CARD: Untrustworthy
Spurs have really improved since the arrival of Ramos. And that thrashing of Arsenal (2nd team or not), would have really lifted their spirits. I am really looking forward to this final, because I expect some good display of football by both teams.

Yeah, if both teams just go all out to win, then it will indeed be a cracker.

Everton played well I thought. They had me worried on a couple of occasions, but we managed to contain any problems very well. Cech played great, not least by by saving 2 certain goals. Ricci was solid and commanding as usual. Alex looks very relaxed and comfortable too these days. Bridgy and Belletti were solid too. Maka was Maka. Excellent.

I was worried when I saw that Ballack would be missing, to be replaced by Steve Sidwell. I thought the Everton midfield would own us. Not the case at all. The first 25 minutes were a bit scary with Everton looking sharp in midfield, but Sidwell got his head down and had a game that he should be very happy with. Nothing flash, just a competant display from Sid.

SWP was lively and had two good chances saved. Joe's goal was sublime, thanks to a great crossfield pass from Malouda. Anelka worked hard the whole game. He was asked to be the lone striker, which is always a thankless task, but he got stuck in and almost had 2 goals himself.

All in all, I think the only thing that seperated the 2 teams last night was Joe's goal. I thought Moyes was crazy to play Johnson as a lone striker when they really needed to score at least one goal, and it was much too late into the game when he changed that.

Considering the players we were missing, this was indeed a good result. Now we play Spurs for the first trophy of the season.(H)

a nervy performance but yet..i'm satisfied with the performance (considering of the whole set of players that we have rite now)..even the substitutes for that game already worried me.. (3 defensive players, one GK and pizarro)

should be nice to see vs Spurs rather than watching the "arsenal 2nd team & then when they control the whole game .. this is why arsenal is so great PRODUCING youth product".....pffft.

i'm happy with the goal by Joe.
anelka work rate was awesome..he's struggling bcuz he's still dun get with our system..if he was with us during the pre-season..it will be diff. case ;)

congratulation for us! :D

I don't think Anelka was struggling at all and we weren't nervy, far from it, it was obvious that our main goal was to keep Everton at bay and hit them on the break, so a job well done by Anelka holding up front on his own.....Cech got us out of trouble a few times but other than that, it wasn't like Everton was piling heaps of pressure on us, it was great all around effective performance......

No, we don't need another midfielder, we've already got Essien, Macca, Mikel, Sid, Lamps, Ballacks...anyone of those can play defensive midfield and we also got Michael Woods coming thru the ranks....
don't see any reason to bring a new one in.......We've got Wigan next in the FA Cup, lets hope our great cup form continues........

pede54

Team Captain
It did.......Wigan 1- Chelsea 2

Thats us through to the next round, and considering the state of the pitch today, we played well again. A beautiful first goal for Nico, and an assist from him to put SWP in for the second goal.

Scrappy game at times due to the pitch mainly, but all in all a comfortable game. The back four and Maka were awesome again. Everyone played their part though, and Malouda was quite awful today.

Thats 10 games unbeaten in a row now. Avram and the lads are working wonders.

Zakov

Senior Squad
yeah, Malouda was quite off today, couldn't do anything right..........but a good win for us, without Ballack and Cole.....why didn't any of them make the team?
Bent gave us a scare in the last minute, but we're through......
No more signings, thank you very much....i'm quite confident with our current set of players and a our youth system which does have some potential home grown talent for the future.....

pede54

Team Captain
Yeah, I really think that the squad has grown big enough to cope now. Lets face it, we thought we were fu<ked with losing so many players to the ACN and to injuries, but the remaining players have done really well.

We also lost Ballack to a calf strain 2 games ago, so we should be having some problems you would think, but no. Some nice footie still being played in amongst the physical battles, and we are still winning.

Jose's memory lives on thanks to the winning mentality that he instilled into our Club. Not just the players but the whole mindset at Chelsea. Add to that, the fact that Avram is too smart to try to fix something that aint broke.

There are some idiots out there (in ther media mainly), who say that Avram hasn't done anything at all really. He is playing Jose's team which means that he cannot fail to suceed. The chief sports writer of one the daily papers even suggested that, with the squad down to its bare bones, that the team virtualy picks itself. He was implying that Avrams contribution to our continued campaign has been minimal, and that you only need to field 11 good players and they will do the rest.

As we are all aware this scenario would not be possible. Maybe for one game it might work, but to have played 27 games and only lost two of them actually equals Jose's record of HIS first 27 games in charge. Add to that the fact that we are already League cup finalists, and that we topped our CL group after such a disasterous start to our CL campaign (under Jose by the way), and I think it's obvious that our progress this season has been down to Avram as much if not more, than anyone else.

Last season we experienced a spate of injuries that Jose found himself incapable of rising above or coping with. Sure it was a blow to have so many players missing, as it is now, but Avram, Ten Cate and Stevie have put their heads together and are working with each other to cope, and they seem to be coping very well.

Avram bought Anelka to the club to help us through this period and longer, while Jose caused an uproar because he badly wanted Tal Ben-Haim (N), but couldn't have him.

Remember when Jose left? Media and public were adamant that Chelsea would implode and cease to exist as it previously was. Craperooni.

What actually happened was that Grant managed to steady the ship under a very heavy and prolonged bombardment. The players were fussed over and told how special they were, and that it was hoped that none would leave. We were informed by the papers that a mass exodus was around the corner. I don't know what happened to that theory because it has not surfaced since.

The Club is actually a much friendlier and relaxed place these days. Gone are the frowns and gone is the infighting. Everyone at the club are now all pulling together in the right direction. There is cooperation and there is indeed harmony. Not just in the corridors of power but amongst the players too. It reminds me of the old Chelsea beore Bates came in.

Everone has a job to do, and the Club have employed the best people to do those jobs. Behind the scenes, our Club is now beggining to work like a well oiled machine. It is peaceful, it is democratic and it is working very well.

Even Kenyon has been reminded what his duties are and ARE NOT. You don't hear much from him these days do you? :)

So we get Huddersfield at the Bridge in the FA Cup, while Man U get the Arse. Doncha just luv the FA Cup?(Y)

lets face it, its clear that the media has been licking the arse of the teams with huger fan base, its been sort of trend to slag off any other team thats not in red.......its much safer for them that way
i'll admit that as much following that our club currently has, u can't compare it to the likes of Man Utd and Liverpool.......

but then again, the only thing the media are capable of is spreading lies as facts and they always wanted us to believe that success we have was due to money+Jose's spirit left behind.....despite its evident what Steve-Avram-Henk has done.....
nothing would shut them wankers up...
but then again, we shouldn't be bothered....since we're still in the shout of all four competitions.....u can't say the same for any other team in the league at the moment, could ya?

FA Cup:
I'm much happy since its a home tie and also that Mancs Red and Arse'n'all are drawn together....
couldn't have been a better week for us.....
Watched Chelsea TV where they show Maradona's visit to the training camp, nice to have a legend come once in a while...
