Thats about it Fili.

Anyway back to Kulixs' last post, I also remember Kezman and to a certain degree Kuyt too has been a dissapointment.

yes but you have to consider that Ruud was bought a few years ago now, and that because of Abramovic, Ajax wouldn't settle for just £20mil from chelsea..
Ajax are a team that don't hold out for massive fees, its the general attitude in Holland. Kezman scored 124 goals in about 170 appearances for PSV, and still moved to Chelsea for less than 10mil, and failed to establish himself. £20 million is still quite a big fee in football, I imagine it would be enough to get Huntelaar.

EDIT: Yep, me and Pede were thinking on the same note lol.

Eerie...it's probably the fact Liverpool and Chelsea are playing. Kuyt is starting, and Kezman was a Chelsea player. Most likely directed us onto the same wave length lol.

i guess there are morons in every club...i do want Arsenal to win it, but i don't think that this week will make that much of a difference in the long run..plus Arsenal still have to win their game

yeah, its not definitely not over yet, we're 3 behind united now, and Arsenal has yet to get result by the time im writing this.....

I thought we were poor against Liverpool today, our players especially Makelele gave the ball away cheaply on a number times.....Lamps didn't look match fit, don't know why he started in such a big game.....we were just too sloppy today, and liverpool did have their chances early against us....good news, Joe Cole and Lamps didn't pick up bookings, so they would be able to play in the Carling Cup final(which i feared them missing due to this)....
so thats one positive note besides the fact we closed the gap on Utd by a point....

Yah I noticed that too. Specially in the later stages, I kept seeing us give the ball away easily in our own half. But it wasn't that, the problem was how fragile we looked in our half and how they had so many problems getting the ball out of our half. Anelka wasn't playing the out and out striker role at all today, he wasn't really effective.

Zakov

Senior Squad
to be fair, Anelka didn't see much of the ball due to our sloppiness in midfield, but i think tactically, Liverpool got it right, they played with two defensive midfielders and Mascherano who was MOTM IMO, sticked to Ballack, Cole, Makelele, Lamps quite superbly....
Anelka did try to create things for himself, but it didn't work out, so we'll have to sort things out for the next game....

Considering the fallout from Jose leaving the club, and the injuries we have had again this season, and the African Cup of Nations, we are actually having a bloody good season so far. Of course I would like to see us top of the table right now, but that will have to wait for a few more weeks I guess. :D Whatever, I am enjoying the season big time anyway.

The players and the coaches have done a remarkable job for us this season, and I would find it very difficult to think of any other club, who could have still been lying third in the table, alive in 3 cup competitions and still managed to maintain and increase our unbeaten home record to 4, yes FOUR years without defeat, after having to deal with the same problems Chelsea have had all in one season.

This club is and always has been, a club to be proud to support.

I think that it needs to be remembered that the last 2 months for us, has been an exercise in our players and coaches commitment to the cause under difficult circumstances, and they have been remarkable. We have also been able to use this time, to play our fringe players over a long enough period for them to settle in to the team somewhat, that has then enabled the club and US to evaluate them as players, therefore putting us in a much better position to judge, who is worth keeping and who is not. Playing first team football in the EPL for so many weeks certainly seperated the men from the boys, for me atleast.

OK....Huddersfield Town in the FA Cup on Saturday. They will be up for it but I would like to think that the win will be ours.

Now I wouldn't normally provide a link to the crap newspapers of this country and their rubbish journalism but, in this case I will. The reason is, that this is the only article relating to the return of Frank Sinclair to the Bridge that has a photo with it, just to remind people what Big Frank looks like.

This guy was with Chelsea for 15 years, eight of those as a first squad player. He made over 200 appearances for the club, and was there to win the FA cup, the League Cup and the European Cup Winners Cup. He has always loved this club, and tommorow will see the Bridge faithfull salute him as one of ours forever.

(I fu<king hate doing this but here goes).

Chelsea has to change some of their way of playing, sometimes it seems that the team have no ideas on how to get a goal.
And this, we have seen it in games where we need a result, and we just keep trying, but nothing happens.

i want your opinion on this guys

Well like I said, when we have the full squad available once more, and they stay fit and healthy, then perhaps Grant might actually have a chance to organise the play as he likes. With a makeshift team, with players dropping out all over the place, and this being Grants first season, he has only been able to concentrate on getting as many points on the board as possible.

As for not scoring the goals when we need them. We have only failed to score in 2 matches this year, one was the draw with Liverpool, and the other was the defeat against Arsenal.

We have been struggling to score of late, that is true, but with Drog away, Nic only just arrived and Sheva injured, we have had to play Joe and Shaun as strikers at times, or been forced to play the ineffective Pizarro.

Then look at the makeshift defence we have been putting out. We have leaked more goals than we are used to leaking, but its obvious why that is. As I said earlier, this recent spate of games has seperated the men from the boys.

As from today, Grant has almost every player back on his feet and ready to play. JT is back for tomorrows game, and Drog is back from Africa.

Our season will begin in earnest this week end. So far we have managed to keep up with the leading 2 clubs. Now we will see what our players and our coaches are made of.

i've just seen a youtube vid of frank sinclair, and to be honest, the guy was a decent defender but he just had the knack of getting an own goal in the most unfortunate circumstances....lol, sorry frank since your in huddersfield, i'll post this video....

don't mind if it happens to us...
Still, frank,your a legend (Y)

Hehehehee, yeah Frank did have a tendency to do that sometimes, but he more than made up for it with the goals he scored in the correct net over his time. He got a great reception at the Bridge today.

Good FA Cup win. Lamps reaches 101 goals for the club, and we march on. Nice to see the fringe players getting the start, and very nice to see JT back and looking super fit. Lamps did well as usual.

Liverpool lose 2-1 to Barnsley
Arsenal lose 4-0 to United ( I did enjoy that game):) Own goal by Gallas (AGAIN).....hehehehehe

Draw for the next round is on Monday. Be nice to meet United in the final again. Revenge IS best served cold.

nope, for us its revenge for the most recent result against them, the one we lost 2-0.....hehehee
since we usually don't lose that much against them in recent times....

Scott looked great btw and definitely deserves a chance to shine in the EPL

First leg. Olympiakos 0 - Chelsea 0. Crap game. I didn't expect a massive result considering our other priorities, but I did expect to see us play some convincing football with the players we had on the field. Both teams seemed happy with the draw, but I thought it was pants. Not impressed at all.

A.Cole is rubbish right now, and needs to be dropped in favour of Bridge who is a much better player. Malouda dissapoints in every game. Can this guy actually do anything constructive? Belletti had a bad game and just did not settle at all.

The ref was out of control and a complete mug, and was taken for a fool by the Olympiakos players rolling around.

Before last night, we had the best disciplinary record of all the qualified teams. Only 3 yellow cards in all games played. Last night that prick in black booked 4 Chelsea players, with the only deserved yellows going to A.Cole for a needless trip just because he was beaten off the ball, and belletti's assault on one of their attacking players. Maka got booked for talking to the ref. Being the team captain allows you to do that, but obviously the ref didn't know that.

Where do UEFA get these idiots Fili, thats what I would like to know. Year after year all we see are refs who want to see their names in the papers, the morning after the game. The ref in Greece last night visibly lost his temper at times which is not a sign of a good ref who is in control.
