Considering the fallout from Jose leaving the club, and the injuries we have had again this season, and the African Cup of Nations, we are actually having a bloody good season so far. Of course I would like to see us top of the table right now, but that will have to wait for a few more weeks I guess.
Whatever, I am enjoying the season big time anyway.
The players and the coaches have done a remarkable job for us this season, and I would find it very difficult to think of any other club, who could have still been lying third in the table, alive in 3 cup competitions and still managed to maintain and increase our unbeaten home record to 4, yes FOUR years without defeat, after having to deal with the same problems Chelsea have had all in one season.
This club is and always has been, a club to be proud to support.
I think that it needs to be remembered that the last 2 months for us, has been an exercise in our players and coaches commitment to the cause under difficult circumstances, and they have been remarkable. We have also been able to use this time, to play our fringe players over a long enough period for them to settle in to the team somewhat, that has then enabled the club and US to evaluate them as players, therefore putting us in a much better position to judge, who is worth keeping and who is not. Playing first team football in the EPL for so many weeks certainly seperated the men from the boys, for me atleast.
OK....Huddersfield Town in the FA Cup on Saturday. They will be up for it but I would like to think that the win will be ours.
Now I wouldn't normally provide a link to the crap newspapers of this country and their rubbish journalism but, in this case I will. The reason is, that this is the only article relating to the return of Frank Sinclair to the Bridge that has a photo with it, just to remind people what Big Frank looks like.
This guy was with Chelsea for 15 years, eight of those as a first squad player. He made over 200 appearances for the club, and was there to win the FA cup, the League Cup and the European Cup Winners Cup. He has always loved this club, and tommorow will see the Bridge faithfull salute him as one of ours forever.
(I fu<king hate doing this but here goes).
