I take it you're referring to the JT handball? I thought there was no way of him getting his hand out of the way, given the way Perreira striked the ball. Have seen those given, but it would've been a very cheap penalty.

Yeah, all in all we didn't deserve to lose. Hopefully Garay is fit for the next encounter and Jorge Jesus stops being a stubborn son of a gun..

Strangely enough both ex-Benfica players had a blinder, Luiz and Ramires. I didn't see us conceding, just a barrage of corners that were defended comfortably.

I thought we also had a chance on the break, Jardel was making a few mistakes and both full-backs were pushing forward quite high, so there were gaps to be exploited. I can see why Robbie chose to go with Kalou and Torres.

Other than the Javi Garcia header, Cech wasn't really tested. Torres had a decent game, if only he can get the same service for himself that he deliver to others.

Yeah David Luiz did pretty well, MOTM for sure. Concerning Ramires his display is easily explained.. He said after the match: "We tried to exploit the weak... left side"

lol this is what I was referring to, it seems everybody knows Emerson is a very weak player, except for our coach. Jardel is a liability, he's only playing because Garay is injured, still I think a young player like Miguel Vitor is a much better option..

Fair play to Di Matteo though, fielding Paulo Ferreira so that it would be 10 against 10. Unfortunately even Ferreira is more solid than Emerson.


But anyway, I think the result is unfair from what the two teams did but congrats to Chelsea.

Chelsea had more portuguese players playing today than Benfica. Because brazilians and argentina players are the best... herp derp.. and yes im kind of mad, not for losing, but to see a team like Benfica losing his portuguese DNA when we have nice players here playing in Portugal and our formation, who knows what teams like Benfica and Porto means and the way theyre seen here. Braga is first in portuguese league with 13 wins in a row and like.. 5 or 6 portuguese players in their 11 initial players.

But yeah.. keep giving priority to south american players because they're all good in all aspects... not.

I was left impressed by Witsel though, really looked comfortable on the ball. Mikel played well, but if he moved the ball forward quicker like Witsel did, I thought we could've created a few more chances.

Will Garay be back in time for the 2nd leg?
