Fergie is just giving excuses about the transfer thing. There are bargains out there in the summer but Fergie decided to be stubborn and stick to the players we got when we were lacking a central midfielder. He keeps on hyping about Essien, who is a great player but he can't open his eyes to see other great midfielders. There is Emre, Parker and van Bommel to name a few. I honestly think it is foolish for Fergie to come out and make the comment.

I think thats all a smokescreen Fernandez....so people will talk about that instead of the game on Sunday or any other problems that Man U might have at the moment

Sure they will be determined, but their squad is down to the bare bones at the moment.Rooney will always be a problem and we have to watch Ronaldo but really,i dont think the rest of them will have much to offer as desperate to win as they are.Dont forget we are determined to win this one too.I just hope Terry and Gallas are paired together and Ricci is on the bench.I dont wanna see Huth at all.I wanna win this badly, not just because its United, but because so many other sad gits would love to see us drop points.I cant see that happening though, although i think maybe Fergie will park the bus in front of the goal.We have got to be hot right from the kick off.We are stronger,we can do that.We must do that.

Maybe we will give one of those perform or I'll drop you performances again. We have rose to certain occasions like last season's league double over Arsenal but we have also sunk to clubs like Wolves, Norwich etc.

Huth could probably give our defense problems if he's played up front. :jambo:

We cant promise anything about feelings tomorrow, but I know the mindset Jose will have the team in, and I wouldnt want to be facing them

We do indeed have to come out guns ablazing tomorrow. If we start to get into these slow, methodical, dump and chase tug of wars like we ususally do with Liverpool, anything can happen off some broken play, and giving all three points to United would be a damn disaster. I'm thinkin Jose will keep two fresh wingers on the bench and let them do all the controlling for the first half in the hopes that they can generate something. If we have a good first half and establish a healthy lead, then id like to see us revert to a standard 4-4-2 and just play solidly.

Rooney is indeed the man to watch. He can make us pay in an instant if he is left unmarked, and I think if he is lying deep behind the striker, we may yet see Mak stick on him for the majority of the game, although Essien may be more apt to doing that.

I just don't like Cole, just like I didn't like Gudjohnsen. He proved me wrong but Cole hasn't yet, just because he runs everywhere like a maniac and gives it all doesn't mean that he has the playing ability necessary to play for Chelsea. When I see Chelsea play (which is a lot) I mostly just see him make really fast runs and then get stuck with 2 or 3 defenders on him and eventually loses the ball, how is that useful? I'd say that out of 10 times that he has the ball only 2 or 3 times does he actually do something useful with it.

My opinion, I don't care if you agree with it or not.
Youre opinions are of course valid and welcomed, but I just happen to think differently.
Joe busts his ass, tracks back, creates, makes runs and opens holes, and gets teammates involved. He has scored several for us already this season, and though I wish he would cut the diving and the bitching at refs out of his game, its clear that he loves to play for this club. He could have just sodded off to find a new club when everyone was saying there was no place for him at Chelsea, but he put his head down and started to work in a new position. Now, I believe the squad would be lacking an element of creativity without him. The guy is our new wizard/genius/Zola with the ball, always ready to bust into a moment of brilliance. I think its more than valid to compare him to Ronaldo in that he does lose the ball often, but without him, the side loses that guy that opposing defenses must key in on every minute their out there.

WTF ?!!! :|:|:|

How can you blame the loss on Cech ? He's a special goallie, and to beat a special goallie you need a trully spectacular shot or one fluke goal like Fletcher did.

BTW, 1-0, the race is on again (H)

10 points would suggests it's not
We still have a game in hand if I'm not wrong. And 10 points is not that far, anyone who has seen the rivalry between Manchester United and Newcastle some years ago knows what I'm talking about. Unless Chelsea got a 21 points lead before Christmas, anything can still happen.

Well if Charlton win, I think that they'll be only 3 points behind us.

Anyways, I'm not that surprised at this result. Chelsea pounded them but as the saying goes, it wasn't Chelsea's day to be. The 40 point streak is lost but look at the bright side boys. We showed we could attack and dominate (unlucky not to score). And even though we lost, Arsenal's run of 49 games unbeaten wasn't as impressive as our record of our 40 premiership games plus the next ten will be. If they go on and don't lose any in the next ten, then I'll be more pleased with our record. And the other good thing is that Jose won't allow this to go any further and I feel bad for our next opponents.

I'm surprised that a rush of people haven't come here and bragged though.

Nice little article i found.......Nice to see we are winning peoples respect at last..............

Mour boys good losers

CHELSEA and Arsenal’s unbeaten Premiership runs both came to a halt at Manchester United — but that is where the similarities end.
All you heard from the Gunners’ camp were moans and groans. You would have thought their world had collapsed.

Ridiculous when you consider that at the time Arsenal were playing some of the best football of Arsene Wenger’s reign.

The contrast with Chelsea on Sunday could not be greater.

Blues played like the champions they are in the second half and accepted defeat graciously despite perhaps deserving at least a point.
There tells the tale of the mentality of the two London sides.
Arsenal’s season collapsed when they were beaten by United. They could not handle defeat and made the mistake of thinking they were invincible, losing the plot as well as their title. Under no circumstance do I expect the same to happen to Chelsea. Even if they do lose their next match to Newcastle, they will without a shadow of doubt retain the Premiership crown and their manager.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho’s arrogant manner shields his players from criticism.
Mourinho has said he would deserve the sack if he lost three games on the spin.
He won’t be resigning or getting the sack but if Newcastle do pull off a shock he may have to eat humble pie — and I’m sure he wouldn’t like the taste.

The all had their go in the game thread, treble. I was surprised too though, because it was only the gooners who took shots at us in terms of neutrals. The mancs all realized how desperate they were and how lucky they got to escape with all three points.

Still, 40 games isnt 50, and I was f*cking pissed that the run came to an end.
All the gooners are pretty happy they still have their little award, but I know deep down inside that its only a matter of time till we crack that mark and set the longest unbeaten run ever. Hopefully this, like you said, gets the players in gear and makes them realize that they have to play all 90 as hard as they have before to make it stick. You could see though, our malaise disappeared in the second half of that game and we came on as strong as ever. Like you say, we were just unlucky not to score.

OH BUT PETE, CHELSEA R SOOOO ARROGANT LOLOLZ

Nobody brought this up, but this was one of the first things I thought about after we lost. What happened last year: Pizza gate. Arsene Wenger SLANDERING Van Nistelrooy as a cheat, and Cygan or whoever chucking soup in the opposite dressing room.

When the whistle went at the end of sundays game, I was gutted, obviously, but I watched for the reactions intently. At Anfield last year, some of the boys broke down but most got on with it, and despite the heckling, objects being thrown from the kop and the emotion of the loss, they got on with it and shook hands.

All you saw after Sunday's game was total class on the pitch. They exchanged shirts, shook hands, and (for me this was the most significant part) Lamps, Terry, Cech and I believe Duffer were off in the corner clapping our fans for their support, as if it was any other game. That mentality after the loss tells me that we will not do another Arsenal, not by a long shot.

In the postmatch, Jose was bluntly stubborn but fair. He clearly respects the mancs and ferguson, who, as it was, gave a classic interview. He sometimes seems a bit senile, but damnit, I respect him and most of that team.

Looks like Jose's got one more on Professor Wenger, Master of Mind Games. When he brings home back to back titles, that will be something else he has over him.

Look, beating Arsenals record would of been great.

However, its only secondary.

Rather win 9 games, lose 1 outta 10, then win 8, draw 2.
