yeah, it's more commonly known simply as just Académica... It's actually one of the most popular and well supported clubs in Portugal after Porto, Benfica, and Sporting.
Why couldn't Chelsea be collecting strikers like Valencia?

Why would you trade two of your best prospects for some director who doesn't even play? It'd be even more stupid then the Thorsten Frings and Valeri Ismael swap between Bayern and Werder Bremen.

Right, but not because of their sporting merits, it's one of those teams that are always coming and going from 1st to 2nd League.
The reason is that Coimbra has the oldest and most important University in the country, so most of the thousands of students that go there every year becomes an Académica fan.
