Copa America final: ARGENTINA-BRAZIL

So... what are your predictions about this game? Perhaps Argentina has more talented squad...at least on the paper. But Brazil vs. Argentina is always completely unpredictable (remember the 1990 World Cup)? ;)

I think it will be very tight game. Maybe 2-1 to Argentina. If it goes to penalties I'm afraid Brazil has the edge. I'm not 100% confident with Abbodanzieri's abilities to stop penalties... but then again I'm not that familiar with him anyway.

Will the "Magic Man" Riquelme find a trick or two to defeat Brazil, or can their defense eliminate him?

This is a game of the year without a doubt...at least for me. Can't wait til' Sunday.

Mauricio

El Gran DT
Abbondanzieri is a PK specialist he had won alot of games.

I hope Argentina wins, it would be a disgrace that Brazil wint the cup withput a proper football and without Kaka and ROnaldinho

Senior Squad
I think they'll struggle to stop Riquelme with Gilberto Silva out, Argentina really should win quite comfortably.
4-1

"Cábala" says we have to wait for Diablo_Rojo to start this thread guys:S

Yeah, but that cábala died in the last match, jimmorrison started that thread and we still won.:p

Anyway i think a 3-1 for us. Not sure who will score for us, maybe Verón will finally get to score a goal. Maybe Robinho to score for Brazil.

Will get Gilberto Silva allowed to play since the mess up of the yellow card against Chile?

i'm not really sure
i see SG is full of argentinians, brazilians don't speak english?
anyway, i always say that negative people don't get suprise, and that's why my predictions are alwasy against argentina
against brazil, i wouldn't be so sure to risk a result
i mean, it is said that "fun is always brazilian" (or smth like that), i would say "luck is always brazilian", Argentina is just not lucky enough, we all know this
many might say that luck has nothing to do with a game, is just good or bad play, i don't know...

Hmm, maybe you're too young to remember the seventies and eighties? You know... back then it was completely other way around. ;) Brazil always had the best team but they never, ever had any luck whatsoever.

1974 they lost to superior Netherlands.
1978 they didn't get to the final because of that infamous goal difference (the Peru-Argentina match)
1982 they lost to Italy and Paolo Rossi (despite being the best team of the tournament)
1986 they lost to France in penalties (probably the best football game ever played)
1990 Maradona and Caniggia sent them packing early. Brazil was EXTREMELY unlucky in that game:

Yes, thats true...he will be in the bench...

I also think it's a good idea to keep him in the bench now... it's not easy to come back after an injury (even a small one). Final game isn't the right place or right time. Maybe start with Tevez and use Crespo as a substitute (if needed).
