Doing a quick rundown on the Brazilian teams so far:

(Last week)
--> Audax Italiano 0 x 0 São Paulo (*terrible* game to watch, at least we didn't lose... no worries for now as we're still sorta settling our play style.)
--> Cerro Porteño 0 x 1 Grêmio
--> Real Potosí 2 x 2 Flamengo (game played 4000m above sea, and complete with Flamengo players collapsing due to sheer lack of oxygen - I do not think any of them had experienced that before. Flamengo even tried to complain to Comenbol about high-altitude venues, but of course didn't obtain success)
--> Unión Maracaibo 2 x 4 Paraná Clube
(This week)
--> Nacional 3 x 1 Internacional (Pasion, Ruben and co. are probably revelling on this...)
--> Flamengo 3 x 1 Unión Maracaibo (I'm quite glad to see Flamengo putting up some good showings, or at least what they were supposed to do. Too bad they are on the same group of Paraná. Guess, however, that's a fair price to pay for having 6 of 32 spots...)
--> Paraná 2 x 0 Real Potosí (quite nice start as well for Paraná)
--> Deportivo Pasto x Santos (Thursday, late in the night)

Really need to work on our finishing, we could of easily scored another 3 or 4 goals. If you ask me, Inter got off easy tonight. :nape:

and some people here thought Nacional didn't deserve to be seeded :rolleyes: ... but i guess gimnasia (3-0 loss against defensor sporting) and banfield (1-0 loss against libertad) deserved it more :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes: .....

cienciano 1 - 2 toluca , wow 3 out of 3, but the plus on this is that all mexican clubs play as visitors, visitor points are gold imo. :)

btw nice win by nacional, tought i dont remenber anyone mention they shouldnt be seeded,on the contrary everybody here was a bit mad teams like gimnasia and banfiled and some brazilian clubs got seeded in the first place.

anyways this was a bad day for me , iam very heartbroken my beloved barca lost today on the CL , not even those two sixpacks of heineken and those pretzel bun hotdogs were able to cheer me up lol

Man I hadnt celebrated a goal so much in a long time (the 2nd goal by Delgado). Great win :)

btw, for the Toluca game: did vicente sanchez score?

i really liked how nacional turned the score around, it was a good match. Pasto vs Santos was alright, one single counter attack gave the win to santos who did not show much through the game, and pasto is just lacking with strikers. As with the Mexicans beating the peruvian teams, i think there is a reason for this, peruvian teams are nothing compared to the budget and players the Mexican teams can afford. Not saying this is why they loose but its a key factor especially with player signings. I can also say the same with ecuadorian , Bolivian even Colombian teams, some teams just got terrible budgets out there some are even in deficits.

Athletico Mexiquense Minus Gallego (Toluca) 2

cienciano 1

thats more correct IMHO, cause Gallego did not go to peru and Toluca send there Primera A team in representation of them plus 1 or 2 players from 1st team....

yes, i guess thats why the mexican clubs have sent their bench to play this games , hell even toluca sent their division b team, and still they beat them, not to mention as visitors, mexican clubs have pretty nice budgets, but not all of them, even at that none of the teams have big names ( i would consider big names maybe tevez, riquelme, matias fernandez etc..), some of the bignames playing in mexico werent bigplayers when they arrive, examples as vicente sanchez, cabañas, vuoso, abreu etc... , they made a name for themeselves playing in mexico, so i think its has do more with the good competitive level going on in the mexican league than big budgets and buying suposebly big names as you mention .

speak the truth compa. so now that they made a name for themselves in Mexico, South Americans call them big name players. hmm must mean Mexican League is not that bad but ofcourse even some dont even make it in FMF such as wonderkid from Once Caldas dont remember his name who failed miserably with Morelia and not to mention the next big thing from Colombia Rodallega who just cant cut it....

Also i'm seeing that peruvian football, club and national team, are turning worse each year.

Colo Colo(CHI) vs. River Plate(ARG) 1-2

Good victory for River, but somewhat a weird match. What do you think of the first goal? Was it valid or not?

First goal? It was valid (think you're talking about the 2nd one). But why was Giovani so angry after the goal? I didnt get what was going on.

But neither were they complete unknowns. At least, both Abreu and Vicente were well known prior to their moves to Mexico. Abreu played for San Lorenzo, Deportivo, Gremio and was capped for Uruguay before making his first move to Mexico, and Vicente was a starter at Nacional (signed after being a revelation with Tacuarembo) and was wanted by a couple of european clubs before moving to Toluca.
