Well guys i have an important choice to make, which will affect my life foreva! :) Should i get the Creative zen micro or the Ipod? Im now more leaning towards the Zen because it can apparently hold 2500 songs( compared to 1000 fo da ipod), has a voice recorder but is the same exact price of an ipod mini!If i get the mini ima get it in the 4 gb format which is 249.99 CND.But the zen micro can hold 5gb of stuff for the same price! Now can anyone tell me why i should or shouldnt get the zen?Too complicated?Heavier?WTV!!!!But the only problem is dat i think the battery isnt as good as the new ipod mini's tho.

TECH SPECS!!!!

Well?

Get the iPod mini.. others might have one or two more features, but they won't last as long and the overall quality is worse. Not to mention syncing your iPod with iTunes is easy and painless.

And just to give you an idea of what you're dealing with with companies like Creative:

Creative Zen Neon ships with virus

EDIT: I also have to add that the Creative thing in the link you posted is ugly as hell

Creative Zen > Humming the tune > iPod

Zen has far better battery life, can be used as a portable hard drive, is easier to use, is cheaper, easier to carry out repairs on, better sound quality . . .

It's a no-brainer to me.

iPod defenitely. Looks a lot cooler, much easier, it's brilliant. I got the 6GB iPod mini, no complaints, it's probably the best thing I ever bought, I take it everywhere!

Better battery life?

maybe, but the player itself won't last very long. Besides, who needs more than 18 hours battery life on a portable mp3 player.

Ipods are portable hard-drives too, and there's nothing easier to use than an iPod with a clickwheel, sorry but that's BS. The software you get with Creatives is crap, no way it's easier to use than iTunes. It's also cheaper because it's cheaply made (..and ugly), and good thing it's easier for repairs because I hear those things need em' often. Sound quality depends on the quality of the MP3 itself and your headphones. Good Luck with customer service too with those other smaller companies...

I've personally known people who've ditched their Creative Mouvo slim and Rio MP3 players for iPods after a while, but I've never even heard of anyone ditching an iPod for one of those imitators. Rio even stopped making portable players recently.

The only problem with the IPod are the earphones! Many of my frends had to change their ear phones often.I odnt know if its bcuz they suk ( i doubt it) or if its bcuz they listen to their music too loudly but....And they cost A LOT to get replaced (well for earphone sits a lot)! And dont start tellin me to get a regular pair of earphones cuz an Ipod without the ipod earphones is nothing!!!I am now leanin towards the Ipod just so you guys no!lol

iPod earphones aren't very good at all, that's true. I don't think they're as horrible as a lot of people would make you beleive though. You could probably pick up a pair of $20 Sony earbuds that sound better than the iPod ones....and if it's the white earphones you really want, other companies make them also. I know Sony makes white 'Fontopia' earbuds, and I think JVC makes some too.

Do you think an Ipod for 235 bucks is good enough for me to actually order one?Cuz my frends dad wrks with apple and thats the price he can get me one for!I was hoping it to get a bigger discount but i guess not!Is their an advantage of buying it in the stores?

dunno about creative zen..... but at this very moment, i have more friends having their ipods serviced (for various reasons) than having it functioning.

No way, the creatives are extremely well made. Given that creative has a history and is a company that manufactures sound products, I'd be more inclined to trust them than Apple, who make computers and mice with one button. Who needs more than 18 hours? The iPod is actually about 8-10 when you get them new. Apple is notorious for its marketing. Plus it's annoying having to recharge all the ruddy time.

You can just use explorer with the creative zen. None of this messing around with iTunes. By repairs I meant for example, changing the battery, which is a no-go in an iPod. All batteries fail and loose their ability to hold charge over a time span, and the ones in iPods have a better ability to loose charge than Zen's. Also Creative is not a "small" company, they are one of the biggest in the world when it comes to sound products. The headphones that come with the Zen's are better than the iPod ones . . . and the creative hardware is better at decoding MP3's. Play a song on a Zen and an iPod and you'll notice the Zen has better clarity.

Plus calling a Zen ugly is like FIFA fans saying PES doesn't have official names . . . cosmetic's aren't everything, I myself prefer functionality over looks.

I've personally known people who've ditched their Creative Mouvo slim and Rio MP3 players for iPods after a while, but I've never even heard of anyone ditching an iPod for one of those imitators. Rio even stopped making portable players recently.

I know a fair few people who have ditched iPod's, especially my band mate, his iPod's battery went tits up, and Apple refused to replace it. He got a Zen and likes it a lot more. And Apple are the imitator really, Creative/Rio started MP3 players before Apple did! :)

I don't really want to argue, but my advice is try them out. I think that iPod's are for people who want a fashion item; Zen's are for people who want functionality. It's almost a case of Intel |= AMD again.

My advice is to get what you want, you probably won't be told by someone else! But consider all options first.

well, I could easily quote you again and point out a couple things that are total rubbish, but I can't be arsed anymore for these long ass replies. Anyhow, you were right when you said "get what you want", leave it at that..

Gagiz, just make up your friggin' mind and pick something. It's just an MP3 player we're talking about here, you're not adopting a child or something..

No mp3 player is going to to tits up after two weeks. I would personally go for Apple (I've got a 6GB iPod mini and it's the best thing I've ever bought). Sure it's a fashion item but a damn good one at that, it's the best out there (I tested some before I went for Apple). Just take a look at cnet.com, they review all sorts of products and guess which mp3 player comes out best in the reviews, yup you guessed it.

As for Creative, they really aren't that great you know. Creative are the best know audio company but not the best by far. The sound cards they make are alright but an audio pro would laugh at you if you told him Creative made the best soundcards (for example).
