Creative Zen Micro vs. Ipod mini

Question.......

I have an iPod Mini bought from Best Buy and got 3 yr warranty, visualize this scenario, if my mini breaks, I can go exchange it, but do I get a Nano or mini?

Nah sadly :boohoo:

I bought a 4G 20GB last November. The harddrive has screwed up three times but every time Apple has replaced the iPod free of charge with a brand new one.

I keep hoping they will screw it up and give me an iPod Photo by mistake but they know by the serial numbers exactly what kind of iPod you have :(

Well, the 8 gig Zen MicroPhoto is out. (Y)

And shinji, you haven't heard that Creative were awarded the patent for an id tag database GUI system (that many players, including the iPod) due to them implementing it before any other player with their Zen Nomad way way back before the iPod was even announced. :ewan:

So yeah. Bit rich saying the Zen Micro's GUI is a blatant ripoff of the iPod GUI.

Also means that Creative can get royalties for every iPod sold. (H)

I also hate it how people constantly refer to any music player as an iPod knockoff.

Hitachi have come up with a 1 inch 60 GB drive. It will take a year or so though for it to start appearing in mp3 players etc.

Their other drive nicknamed Mikey will be out sooner... that holds about 10 gigs.

Ah 60gb, that should suit me. Maybe make it 100gb just in case :D

Hate to think how much its going to cost

Obviously not all music players are iPod knockoffs, but some clearly are. You'd have to be blind not to agree..

Haha, I agree on that. The Chinese Shuffle knockoffs are just (H)

I was actually referring to people who decide to think my iRiver H320 is a iPod knockoff, despite the fact that it's probably superior to the iPod in every way except for design.

Agreed. Everything thats not an Ipod is dubbed as a knockoff by the ones who overpaid for one.

And every review of a non-Ipod mp3 player eventually turns into a comparison with the Ipod and how it measures up.

I've owned a Creative Nomad II MG (my first MP3 player) and it was great. Now I have a Rio Carbon and it does the job well... easy to use and has all the features i need.

I have a Zen Micro and I have to say it is a mixed package. It does come with 2500 songs. But the overall quality, for mine anyway, was not good. All the free stuff that came with it, broke, from the holder, the phones, even the charger to the battery cover. The battery life is another problem, for some reason the battery tends to drain power while the thing is off, you can fix this by rebooting but then it comes back. There is nothing like fully charging something, leaving it off for 3 days, putting some music on for a half an hour, and then having it die. These things may have been fixed, if they have then get a Zen Micro, because you do get more space AND it is a good machine I really like it, even if the things that don't matter very much, SUCK.

give all credit to Samsung, for their leading technological advance with the flash memory. IPod Nano is the perfect example, it won't be long until Samsung takes over (as soon as 2007).

Sony's fecked, and rightfully so. ATRAC3 is pure crap, and they just love to overprice their stuff because they are Sony.

final word: hold out and buy an actually decent flash mp3 player. it'll come, I promise.
