Occasionally is not good enough at this level. And someone needs to tell that to Gros, Van Sicklen and pretty much everyone on DC United. They couldn't send in one decent cross all night vs. Pumas.

I would like you to try and name more than 5 central attacking midfielders in the league that are better than Adu (Donovan and Mathis are forwards). Freddy's play right now does not justify his paycheck, there's no question about that. He'd have to be the league MVP to justify his salary. So what? It doesn't mean he's not working hard, he's 15 for God's sake. I'm sure he's pushing himself very far to crack the starting XI for DC United. The kid's doing the best that he can, he's a competitor. Don't hate him just because he's overhyped.

That was a crap game, although fun to watch at some points. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

The Hejduk-Adu incident was hillarious. It would of been great if Hejduk elbowed Adu in the face.

And, i love Frankie Hejduk. If you guys havent seen "My Way" - the story of the USA at World Cup 2002, try to download it. Hejduk is so damn funny.

Freddy Adu is a little bitch, but hes 15. You cant expect much more. He may be above average at best right now, but imagine what he will do at 21.

Frankie seems like an awesome guy to have in camp or on a World Cup squad, to bring up the spirits. His little chat with Donovan before the Portugal game is legendary.

Okay, I've calmed down quite a bit since that game. A lot of what I said about Adu was an overreaction to the incident with Frankie and also the Crew's poor play tonight. Man, they should have killed that line-up that DC had out there.

Basically, to sum it up, I think Freddy's overhyped. I do realize that he's 15, and maybe I should lessen my expectations from him. He stills acts like a bitch, though.

My biggest frustration is that the league doesn't market its other stars to near the degree that they market him. I swear, most every commercial that I've seen is him, or him with a few other players. Why the hell can't Eddie Johnson have his own commercial? He should be marketed just as aggressively. I mean, he's proven that he can score in MLS and in WC qualifiers. I think at this point, I'm just suffering from Freddy overload. I don't really hate the kid. It's not in my nature to just hate random people that I've never met. If he hooks up with Hilary Duff, however, it will be an altogether different matter.

I posted some pretty asinine things during the game, so let me apologize to you guys for dumbing down this thread and for responding like an ass to some (Shifty) of you.

Now I'm off to finish calculating the MLSPL standings.

Why the hell can't Eddie Johnson have his own commercial?

After the Rapids - Dallas game in Denver, on a very cold night with a snowstorm approaching, there were 100+ kids in line to get an autograph from EJ after the game.

And you have absolutely nothing to apologize for. Adu is kind of a brat, but I'd rather have cocky and ambitious than lazy and underachieving (paging Justin Mapp).
