yep.

it isn't great. but it touches on many differeny subjects, and it's pretty critical of the Bush administration, which I like.

there are a couple cheesy moments though.

He did use the right quotes, it was very easy for people to relate to.
and for his standards, he has improved a lot.

I'm still pissed about the networks only airing three hours over four days... f*ckers.

Edit: Haha, they're praying right now and one of Kerry's sons is on his cellphone... (H)

I thought his speech was a home run. Was anyone else watching CNN? Because at the end they had some guy swearing about the balloons. They let the backstage chatter run for minutes, I suspect Republican sabotage.

Yeah, I know. This from the Drudge Report.

you can hear it here: http://drudgereport.com/dnc.mp3

DNC CONVENTION DIRECTOR DON MISCHER AIRED ON CNN AS KERRY ENDS SPEECH, HEARD WORLDWIDE: 'No confetti. No confetti yet. Go balloons. Go balloons. More Ballons. All balloons. All balloons. Come on guys, let's move it! Jesus. We need more balloons. I want all balloons to go, goddamn! No confetti. No confetti. No confetti. I want more balloons. What's happening to the balloons? We need more balloons. We need all of them coming down! Balloons. Balloons. Balloons. What's happening! They're not coming down. All balloons. Where the hell! Nothing is falling. What the fu*k are you guys doing up there? We want more balloons coming down. More balloons. More balloons'...

CNN let that go on for minutes. Why not just cut the audio feed altogether? Because the RNC slipped someone some money to let it go, ruining the post-speech celebration. I wouldn't doubt they also sabotaged the balloons to try and get a rise out of him.

Okay, I actually watched the speech... but with a twist! After my Thursday soccer game we all went out for a few beers at a local sports bar. They showed the pseech with loud audio and for the most part everyone was listening and commenting...

However, my team is mostly made up of libs, and they couldn't stop laughing at the guy. None of them like him much and most of them said they wouldn't even be going to vote.

Kerry sucks, plain and simple. His Botox treatments are so damn obvious.

Patrick Ewing/John Starks 2004

Oh my god think of the potential. Throw in Charles Oakley as Defense Secretary. Put Mark Carlos*son at the point. Get Anthony Mason as Ambassador to Coolness. Charlie Ward and Chris Dudley will just sort of hang around the White House for no apparent reason. Plus they will have to be in their Knicks uniforms at all times no matter what. I could see it during the debates. Kerry and Bush in three piece suits and Ewing in his classic Blue and Orange number 33 jersey. It would spectacular.

We would tear nations apart. We wouldn't even need an army. Those five could handle everything Like here is how we would deal with terrorism. Starks and Ewing would go

"Hey terrorists what's up?"

Then the terrorist would be like "Nothing."

Starks and Ewing would reply with "Cool how about we play some B-Ball? We win you stop bombing people and if you win you get Spike Lee forever."

The terrorist would reply with "We don't want Spike Lee."

Ewing and Starks then counter with "Lets play then chumps."

Then we would go out and dominate the terrorist with Starks scoring 30 points and Mason and Ewing putting up triple doubles. As long as the terrorist don't convince Michael Jordan or Reggie Miller to play for their team we would win every time. If the terrorist do get Michael Jordan or Reggie Miller, well we all better get ready to be put under the rule of terrorist as John Starks will probably shoot 1 for 15, Ewing will foul out, Oakley will get ejected and Jeff Van Gundy will pull out all his hair on the sideline.

On the other hand I can already here Ewing on government spending. "We make a lot of money, but we spend a lot of money too." Ewing could then make one of his famous trips to the gold club so he can see some lesbian action he so dearly loves.

Ewing/Starks '04 is like a dream come true.

nader is the only true alternative

Badnarik is an alternative too!

I do think Kerry and Bush are different. The people abroad who only worry about the war on Iraq don't realize that, but in terms of domestic issues, the two are different. They have different views on the economy, social issues, etc. I think both are crap, but I'm not going to say they are both the same because they aren't.

CNN is liberal. FNC would definitely air something like that because they are slanted towards the right, but CNN is never going to do anything to cater to the right.

But he's the lesser of two evils, in this case.

No he's not... he doesn't even know what his own positions on anything are. At least with Bush, you know where he is coming from.

I bet you don't actually know much about either guy. The is life outside of the war in iraq.

Kerry gets down on his hands and knees to lick his wifes feet for making him such a rich man.

you should know that unlike the US:

- we actually get UNBIASED information about everything that is going on in the world here in Europe, because the networks and newspapers generally don't suffer any political influence whatsoever.

- it is not well received by people in general to see a reporter and even a political commentator take side on a subject. And if anyone wants to do so they write an article of opinion. They don't camouflage it with news.

- we are bombed every day with news about what's happening in the US, their government and their foreign policy. Because wether we want it or not, everyone who is integrated in the society suffers one way or the other, the effects of this foreign policy, because the oil makes the world turn and our wallets open, and if you think the oil thingie is just for the gas you pump in your car like I've seen people (pennington) mention here in other words, you are very wrong.

So... I really think it's safe to say that the average well informed european knows more about the US foreign policy and related subjects than the average american (internal issues not included). Which is sad but true.
