Every year EA create a new fifa with new gameplay,graphics,,options ...etc .
see the difference between fifa 2003 & fifa 2002 and fifa 2004 .
But konami is only upgrading it's game no big differences .
The funny thing is that we never get bored from WE series .

if we have superb game, no need to experiments to screw it up; Konami fix old bugs and slowly add new features, you know in Evolution way - that why european versions are called Pro Evolution Soccer
but IMHO some things aren't fixed in right way, I personally prefer WE2002 or PES1 than PES3 (shot system, players runs, freekicks) and WE2k2 still gives me more fun than some new games

Fifa series would be called Revolution of Soccer, coz every year we see new, revolutionary vision of (mis)understanding of football game ;)

I think EA is making fifa for gamers who know nothing about soccer or don't play it in real life. but konami is makin' it for real football players .:p

back on topic, its probably because konami have the basics right from the beginning meaning, they make minor tweaks to the gameplay engine that makes the world of difference and keeps the fans satisfied. At times i wonder if EA have a clue. I guess i cant really comment on fifa lately because the last title i played was 2003

Sad but true...FIFA 2003 is not that different from FIFA 2005 (demo)....
