Not at all. FIFA 2003 is crap compared to 2005. In FIFA 2003 it was so difficult to perform headers. And crossing in FIFA 2003 was pathetic. To score a goal off a cross all you had to do was press the player runs button, cross the ball and it would do the rest. The AI is much improved over 2003 as well. It's nothing like 2003. If you want to see "scripted" gameplay have a look at FIFA 2003.

I think if you feel the gameplay in 2003 is similar to 2005 then you haven't played enough of either game.

Bottom line: if u compare FIFA 2005 it doesnt match PES 3 which means they r at least 2 years behind...anyway FIFA 2005 should be better than FIFA 2003 but with EA u never know...ill not spend a dime on that company that screws their customers...

I've got PES3 on my PC right at this moment yet I keep returning back to the demo of FIFA 2005.

I've played all the fifa series games more than 20 matches each at least, including fifa2003 and fifa2005 demo. I agree that 2005 is major improvement above the previous games, but one thing has to be said.
The engine of fifa2003 which has been used for all the sequels, including fifa2005 is just plain all bad, period. Improvements of fifa2005 are good, no one denies it, but the engine is just too limited for a prober football simulatin (it's good for arcade though). I belive that EA guys have went through some experiencefull(is there such word on the earth) developement and could now start to work on plain newe engine.
I still believe that there will be a very good fifa football game somewhere in the future. I have played all the fifa series games from the very first, fifa94 on Sega, and have a certain respect for a series thus I can judge.

1.generally fifa is for kids who dont really know soccer.

2.check out the player movements in these games, u shall see the difference.

if fifa 2005 can catch up wid we 7 int, that ll be gd for ea. otherwise still crap!

i dont think is a matter of loving or not, what happens is that most of us PES players used to be fifa players before, but got fed up with its s***ty and frustrating gameplay along the years that ended up HATING the game, at least thats my case, although i barely come here to post, and when i do i try not to bash fifa fans or insult anybody, you can not deny that fifa gamelpay sucks BIG TIME, it is so frustrating that before selling my copy of FIFA 2004 everytime i would play i would end up so pissed off because the game was such a huge pile of crap. Fifa 2005 will be no different, i downloaded the demo and although is vastly improved it is by no means in par with PES

PS: i have played every fifa game from 94 up until last year ( so my opinions are definitely not ungrounded )

I don't hate Fifa!! If they produce a game worth buying, i'll get it.

BUT

when Konami and Kcet continually produce an 'evolution' of a great game every year, whereas EA come out with 'All New!!!!' ideas and the same old s**t, it gets waring.

Ok that's a good attitude and I can buy that PES 3 was better than Fifa 2004 cause I think so to. But I found it insane that some people say it's better that Fifa 2005 cause PES 3 isn't very good. It's ok but Fifa 2004 sucked big time that's the only reason PES 3 is better. Now I've seen a real improvement in Fifa 2005 and hope for one in PES 4 to.

Not very good?, hmmmmm been rated as the best football game of all time 10/10 in almost every gaming magazine/websites, and for the record WE7/PES3 is better than Fifa 2005.

So sh!t...that's why I see you in the PES forum begging people for PES3 patches. I will no longer quote or have a reasonable debate with you, someone who calls the greatest football game of all time sh!t shows lack of maturity and utter stupidity. Bottom line is mate, you can have your opinion, you like Fifa 2005 better (after only a few games playing as two teams but their you go), but PES3 is an all round better game and has been critically acclaimed. PES4 will once again own and it wont suprise me to see you in the PES forum in a couple of months time kissing PES4's arse.
