Cruz would at least be constrained by the checks and balances inherent in the system, trump will attempt to bulldoze them and may succeed. As I said before, I think cruz is probably worse human being than trump but a trump presidency would be worse for democracy, America and the world. 'Better Ted than Dead'
Cruz is much more tolerable than Trump. Cruz is right wing but he also believes in leaving a lot of issues to the states whereas Trump is clearly a populist strongman.
Now that Trump is basically the nominee, you have the "Never Trump" people scrambling for an alternative yet refusing to support the other right-leaning party with mass ballot access (the Libertarian Party) because the LP's assumed candidate (Gary Johnson, who actually has more electoral success than Clinton or Trump) is pro choice and favors drug legalization. What an absolute mess.

we may completely disagree with cruz and detest him as a man but he is at least a politician whereas trump is a demagogue. We know we can survive leaders we detest and don't agree with but we don't know that we can survive demagogues.

Basically we have Duterte (trump), Roxas (a big fat lie), Poe (lacks the experience but she seems nice..... too nice), Binay (corrupt.... allegedly) and Santiago (very qualified president, maybe the best one but sadly people fail to see how good she can be for this country because a lot of filipinos presume that shes gonna die soon).
Duterte is leading the partial results by 5 million. Safe to say its a win for him, Poe has concede to defeat and so did Binay while Santiago has 1 million votes. Basically its just Duterte with 12 m and Roxas with 7 m. Now Duterte is so famous and hyped because like Trump hahaha they say he can make the Philippines great again lmao but okay I really believe and I want to believe and hope that he really does do it. He was former mayor and he's proud and has constantly voiced out how he hates drug dealers and criminals. He literally has a Davao Death Squad who kill criminals with one word from him. Basically hes like an iron fist. Sorry if this seems like stupid, I'm not very good with politics hahaha
Now Marcos is leading the VP polls at 11m but the 2nd placer is also at 11m. Now everybody literally is going nuts because Marcos is the former son of the famous dictator ferdinand marcos but I really don't want to be quick to judge and hope he does not follow his dads footsteps. 2nd placer is Robredo, a widowed wife of a former gov official that was loved for being a good honest gov official. Now I really hate this bitch (sorry) but shes a puppet thats it. Literally a puppet...

Australian Labor Party now ahead in two party preferred polls for the first time in quite a while, just as the election is called...
Really hoping we don't change PM again. Our current PM is the best middle ground we have, and is the closest we have to a socially progressive capitalist. Too many socialists influencing the vote that don't get simple things, like taxing big multi nationals more doesn't mean more money for the government it means less jobs for Australians when the big companies move offshore. They also don't seem to understand that the current PM has to do his best to keep the far right of his party happy, and the more central and left public happy. Change needs to come slow or he'll be voted out by his own party.
Hopefully Australia aren't stupid enough to change back to a Labor Government again so soon after the last failure. Turnbull is EASILY the best middle ground we have.
