I like the Walcott pick. I know he has not played in the premiership yet but the fact is Pele neither and he scored in the world cup final at 17 same age walcott is!

LOL @ SWP, choosing chelsea money not only cost him playing time but also a spot on the England Squad.

I'm Hype as hell for the World Cup, I cant wait to see England best squad ever play.

With Owen just back, yet to regain match fitness and Rooney injured, he leaves out Bent and Defoe.Instead, he puts in Walcott who has not been playing premiership football.

Downing and Lennon are good choices, players that will make a difference.

If I was him Sven I would drop Jenas who and include one more forward like Defoe.

Ledley King was injured for most of the season I believe and have not been playing regularly. As for Young I think he's simply average and not international class. Carragher can play right back or even left if needed.

Can you guys imagine and Crouch - Walcott front line should Rooney and Owen get injured?

Sure would look interesting. Is Sven betting that Walcott will be another Rooney? Is he really that good?

So we have two injured strikers, one who's never played in the Premiership. And Crouch

I don't see it as dark clouded aslong Defoe comes in over Andy Johnson in case neither Rooney nor Owen make it.

and Sven said he'd use J.Cole in a more advanced role - that's why Lennon/Downing have been included aswell to give him cover, alternatives on the flank.

Overall Sven has got it better than on previous tournaments!

If Owen/Rooney get well before the WC then I'd move one of them out front in place of Cole and move Cole on the left in place of Hargreaves. That would be the best midfield any team would field. Beckham---Gerrard---Lampard---Cole

Is it me or is anyone else wishing Sven would stay on after seeing this squad? Dont get me wrong, his tactics often lack something but you've gotta say, big balls to the man for showing a bit of backbone (H)

I personally think its a fantastic squad, if one hell of a gamble. The only thing i'd want is Darren Bent as the first backup for any injured strikers. I THINK Defoe will be that, who i dont rate.

Lennon deserves to be in that team, he'd be in my team of the season for the Premiership. Obviously Walcott is a hilariously big gamble, but i cant help but like the way Sven has picked him.

Yeah, he's useless on the wings. Either play him at dm where he can perform really well or don't play him at all.
