it's not exactly like it, whatever you say, club and national team are two completely different issues...ranieri was plain stupid, while sven has nothing to prove, he just picked the team freely, precisely because even if the FA still hadn't chosen another manager, he was most definitely leaving anyway..so he just came up with, again, a great team.

I think Sven hasn't got his act together because he has 4!!!! potential right wingers in his squad and only 1 right back?? I'm not and England fan, and I don't this is gonna be enough to even get to the semis.

Its called passion Tom. Something i have in abundance and i wouldn't have it any other way.
As a Nation, I dont give a crap for England. I dislike its mentality, its politics and its over bloated sense of importance in the World. However when it comes to the National football team, thats a different matter. Sure its " only a sport", but to me its THE ONLY sport.

As everybody knows, Defoe is a very good stand in for Rooney just like Peter Crouch. But I think he's playing with the media is he thinks Walcott would do better in Germany then Jermaine.

i am a southampton fan and have seen what walcott can do first hand, at the beginning of the season the poor guy had the presure of the hole football club on him and he still put in some mighty good performances, he got the move to Arsenal which i feel he rightly deserved and he has been unlucky that Arsenal took til the last day of the season to secure champions kleague football next season.
Everyone is making out that he is not good enough for the premiership, the fact is wenger didn't want to risk him and there was no where he could slot into the team. doesn't it say something that he has bench for all Arsenal's champions league games since he joined.
i hope that he gets his chance and proves everyone wrong, wasn't pele 17 when he first played in the world cup !!!

seen him play once, and he looked excellent. I just like this from Sven, i dont know why, i just think with Rooney and Owen or one of them, we have such a good chance of winning the world cup. Our midfield is by a long way the best on the planet, i just hope Sven really goes AT teams when we play. Lampard, Gerrard, Beckham and Cole charging against a defence will scare the **** out of anyone.

We also know that if owen and rooney are fit, it will be owen and rooney all the way, with crouch coming on late on. If owen or rooney aren't fit, defoe will be drafted in.
Shifty....Walcott aint gonna be up against Ipswich or Coventry mate. He will be up against Argentina, Brazil and the rest. Big difference i think.And if it such an honour to sit on the bench, then why does SWP not get a place? At least we all know whar SWP is capable of once he gets his chance.
Remember this about Wenger....All you see are his successes. You never hear about the many young guys that he bought to Arsenal that flopped and were booted out of the door. He is as fallable as anyone.
