maybe now you understand what it's like playing against Porto.
Don't bring a club arguement to a national arguement, two completely different sides, and I'm not even a Porto fan! :crazyboy:

BTW: Can some Greek tell me what's wrong with your coach? He acted like he was losing when his team was up 2-0.
:crazyboy:
The Greeks have an enthusiastic temper, he always takes care to calm them down.

They celebrated as if they had won the game after the 1st goal. :crazyboy:

When two teams are tied on points, at the end of all three matches is it which ever one of the teams has a better goal difference or which team beat the other team tied with them.

For Example

Spain 7
Portugal 4 (Has better goal difference than Greece)
Greece 4 (beat Portugal)
Russia 1

Would Greece or Portugal go through

I think that in those cup competitions goal difference comes first. In most leagues i'm sure that the outcome of both matches played between teams is the first criteria.

I don't think they go on goal difference, I think they go by goals for instead.

If Spain tied Russia at 0-0 today, we wouldn't be in too much of bad shape. But Valeron had to **** up that plan! :crazyboy:

Only two results would've benefited us today from the Spanish game from us losing and that would've been a 0-0 draw, or if one of the teams beat the other by a LOT of goals to help us.

imagine this:

next round:

spain beats greece

we beat russia

last round:

we beat spain

greece beats russia

I think it has to be goal average because 3 teams would be tied with 6 points each one having beated another of those teams

Hah good old portuguese habit. Resorting to math when we fail our objectives. "Lá começa a matemática e as contas a entrar em acção".:crazyboy:

I'm not too confident on a Spain win against Greece to tell you the truth. I'm almost sure Portugal will beat Russia though.

Were almost sure that Portugal was going to beat Greece... I dunno we have to wait and see. "Apartir de agora prognósticos só no fim" or in english, predictions only in the end of the match:crazyboy:

Nah, not everyone. Greece is a better side than Russia to me. You'll face Russia with practically no true defenders (the one they had was sent off today and they'll have to put a youngster in the centre-back role).

with the kind of defence Russia has, if we don't beat them I won't be too disappointed to see us exiting early.

I mean if we can't beat Russia we won't be doing much against France or England.

Exactly what i mean. To say the truth, if you dont beat Russia, it'll just show that you guys werent prepared for it. It would prevent Portugal from getting humiliated against top sides in the latter stages.

Well it looks like Uefa action pass doesn't show the whole match rerun because its been 5 hours since the end of the match and the Greece-Portugal rerun isn't on there.

******* HELL

Greece goes through because they won the game against Portugal so they have the advantage...

now...stop talking about this ****ty game!!! :crazyboy:

Portugal lost because it doesn't have TEAM spirit, we have individual talent, but guess what...football is played with 11 players! :crazyboy:
so Greece was a better TEAM, played as a TEAM so this win is natural.

Ricardo couldn't do much about the 1st goal, Ferreira's mistake shows how nervous our TEAM was, but i think he was ok in the rest of the game. Collina could have shown some more cards, but that's not excuse for losing this game! and probably Scolari made a wrong decision when he started Rui Costa instead of Deco, but i think that's normal since he isn't a great coach :crazyboy:

again, we lost because we don't have a TEAM! we only have a bunch of talented players that can't play together! so with this said, and after watching tonight's game, i don't think we can win against either Russia or Spain...this tournament his lost for us! :(

maybe it's time to close this thread no?
