portugal were pissing me off, they were so shít. i dont even support them but they were frustrating me! :o

whats the point in only playin 1 striker upfront when greece had the entire population of greece behind the ball? they never really looked like they wanted to give it a go and score they were so shít. and figo was the worst, he was playin like he was god but he was crap. how many times did you see crosses coming in from the left then goin to the right but nobody was there? thats where figo should have been but he kept drifting in and getting lost cause hes shít. greece certainly arent there just to make up the numbers and i fancy them and spain to get to the 2nd round, has the host nation ever not qualified for the 2nd round before?

I've seen Portugal play like this before, lots of possession and domination, but not enough aggressive attacking play. I think they need to be a little quicker in their attacks and sometimes just whip the ball into the box. You don't need to walk the ball into the goal every time. All credit to Greece, though.

Not only did Portugal team crash yesterday, but the Mastercard bimp that was above me at the game crashes into the Alantica Ocean just saw the destruction on TV. Now that suxs:crazyboy:

the difference is that the Americans went on to impress and make it to the quarters, this was one game. Still a lot of football to play, one win in the opening round carries no guarentees.

the fact of the matter is that even though we played crap and the Greek defence was very solid...their 2 goals came as a result of two stupid mistakes on our part. Unless it's Christmas and Santa Claus is Greek, it's unlikely the Russians and Spanish will provide the same gifts.. Celebrate now, you've earned it, but keep in mind that the game of football is unpredictable. Greece could finish round 1 with 9 points, or you can easily be on a plane back to Greece by the end of the week...it's a lot less painful when you're humble.

?????? No, you didn't... One thing is recognizing that you deserved to win, which you totally did, because you were the better team. Another one is fantasizing about things that didn't happen. Portugal had far more chances than Greece, that's a fact, that any unbiased person can see. I've read analysis of the game by several international newspapers and they all say this. :rolleyes:

Anyway, moving to another subject: honestly, I just want Portugal to go through in this group stage, it can be in 2nd place. Getting the 1st place or not getting it doesn't matter to me ATM, only going through, which will already be very difficult.

And yes, I know that if we are 2nd we can get France (in theory the 1st placed team in group B) in the quarter-finals. But we aren't in a position where we can chose you know? Going through will already be very good. And besides, if we want to to something in the Euro, we can't fear any team.

Nice game by Figo. The best player in Portugal squad in that game. He active througout the entire game, running down the and dribbling and creating some nice chances.

You had that header from Charisteas, the shot he missed quite early on the game, then Charisteas sent a shot to the crowd when he was unmarked inside the area, and 2 or 3 long shots by him that were pretty weak and my granny would save. Anyway, for a side that defended almost the whole game you guys were pretty dangerous on the 1st half. But if Portugal scored half their chances the outcome would be different.

Anyway, well done to Greece.

Someone tell Scolari to get rid of Maniche for the next game, he kept taking dream shots yesterday.

I still think as a team we played well, and if we finetune our passing and our shooting we can still somehow rally back from this defecit.

Maniche just tried to exploit one of his qualities yesterday. But he couldnt get one right. Felipão just needs to tell him to take long shots when Portugal is winning, not losing (and therefore wasting ball possesion).
