larsson is great, but Eto'o is a proven player in La Liga, so he knows how to attack some defence and he's fast, something that with Roonie and Giuly can be very useful, Larsson lacks speed.

Yeah....but Larsson is a great target for Ronnie's passes.......
Well I guess it is a good problem for the DT........I would imagine he'll use both depending on who they are playing.....what type of D they are facing etc...

Neither Marquez nor Saviola will be on the starting line up, in fact they both are very close to leave Barca

btw those rumors of Saviola going to Atletico for a first option on Torres is BS. Atletico owns Milan almost 23 M, and there have been already talks about Torres going to Milan, for next year... the price, the 23 M that atletico owns to them, plus something like 5 m. So Milan would only pay 5 m, that's why i think that rumor is crap.

Saviola needs to swear an oath the Spanish Constitution to receive the Spanish passport and it seems he won't return until La Liga has started because Argentina will go far in the Olympics. Barça would have to inscribe him as a non-EU. Anyway maybe it's the best for him because this season will be hard to get a spot in the starting line-up with Larsson and Eto'o.

Sure he might not be a starter, but what about providing depth? Other than Larsson, Eto'o, and Saviola what other strikers do Barca have?

Barca To Offload Saviola, Recber and Lopez

Barcelona officials have reportedly told forward Javier Saviola, goalkeeper Rustu Recber and midfielder Oscar Lopez to start looking for new clubs.
Saviola’s exit was all but confirmed when the club snapped up Cameroon international Samuel Eto’o from Mallorca.

With Eto’o, Deco, Larsson and Giuly all added in the offseason, manager Frank Rijkaard deemed Saviola surplus.

Reports are already swirling that Saviola could be joining Champions League finalists Monaco on loan for one season.

However, Monaco do not have the cash to purchase Saviola on a transfer and if another club emerges with an offer, look for Barca to give transfer offers first priority.

As for Rustu Recber, the Turkish international has been unhappy with life at the club ever since he lost the starters' role last season. Once considered among the best shot-stoppers in Europe, Rustu’s stock has decreased dramatically since he joined the Spanish giants.

Lopez, whose contract with Barcelona runs until 2007, has also been told to pack his bags as he is not in the clubs plans for the upcoming season.

I've already formulated a plan in my head. If Real Madrid get Cannavaro then Inter should hijack the Marquez to Lazio deal and bring him to Inter, full deal. Perhaps include some of the players that aren't needed at the club anymore.

Yeah, I posted an article about this earlier. If I were Marquez, I would do it. I don't see Rijkaard using him this season. It all depends on whether he'll be a starter at Lazio, though.
