Valdes was rapped by Calvahro on Terry's goal... should have been obstruction
Yeah our first 19-20 mins we were terrible first the slip and counter-attack then the other two goals similar. Then we sort of woke up, the penalty and Ronaldinho's magic put us back in the game.
Second half they attacked more, playing in our half of the field ,prolley the first time Chelsea has really tried to play and we had some chances... Eto'o's pace and speed against Carvalho, Belletti, Deco all had good chances, also a header i dont remember who but we had good chances their keeper was great. Then we know they're great at set pieces but apart from their efficiency is the subtle way in which they "take advantage" for not saying cheat since they took it to a higher level. The way Carvalho obstructed Valdes was sublime really not easy for the ref to see so i give Collina the benefit of the doubt but a world class ref should be able to see that....
Overall , i really like Rijkaard but he was clearly overmatched tactically especially in the second half i feel he waited too long to make the subs and go for the goal but its easy to second guess after the match. I feel really bad because we deserved to go thru as much as them if not more but thats futbol....Good luck to them and just to say that Mouninho is as good as coach as he is a clown and

Surprised that Barca got beat, especially to a score of 4-2. But I guess Chelsea simply outplayed the side and perhaps got away with a foul at the end which permitted Terry to score. Though atleast your still ontop in La Liga.

Disappointment. Terrible 20 minutes but Barça came back. Collina did the job. The linesman saw something and he didn't go to the midfield at first, but Collina was a coward and didn't disallow that goal. I can't blame the players for that. To win the CL you need luck and he didn't have that luck. I can't wish Chelsea luck after all the crap that they've thrown on :Bow:Rijkaard:Bow:. They played really dirty against him.
We were not outplayed by any stretch of the imagination. No other team would have been able to come back when they were down 3-0 against chelsea, but we did. And not only did we come back, we dictated most of the game. We just didn't put away chances we should have, we hit the post, and now, all the fans are paying for it.
I don't know why all you barca fans keep saying our defence was crap, it really wasn't. We did a good job defensively, we shut them out for the majority of match. In the second and third goal, the ball fell in the right place for them, and any team would have scored those goals, it has nothing to do with the defence. The first goal was just very well set up, nothing anyone could have done about it, and the only goal that can be blamed on the defence was the last one. But i feel Valdes was obstructed on that one.
So stop blaming our defence for what happened, they did an excellent job, we came back from 3-0 down to control the majority of the game. If we played the game again, the result would have been different. We were not outplayed, we just didn't finish our chances.
Now we just have to focus on La Liga, no more distractions, and like someone said earlier, there is always next year.
i agree with that, i see why Mourinho likes Carvalho so much this guy is an expert at grabbing, and all of Chelsea's attackers were grabbing, holding our defenders all the time and i dont know wtf but a lil before the final free kick Maxi had the ball in the edge of the area and the defender was holding the back of his shirt out like 20 inches!!! and Collina was looking right at it as Maxi went down and no FK.
are u kidding me? watch the reply he was pretty close to the shot as it is. had he not been obstructed, he would have easily gotten it.
also, all his defenders were covering the near post, he wouldn't have been covering the same post as well.

Solaimma our defense wasen't great at all, i wanted to shut off the tv right when the 3rd chelsea goal went in , incredible how bad our defenders were they coudn't controll the ball, they would some how give it away and coudnt handle high balls. In the 2cnd half we did a bit better we stoped alot of their attacks which was a good improvement, but terrys header was another case of bad defending noone was covering him, everytime chelsea came in with an attack it was always a clear chance for them.

The goals were effects of individual errors by the Barça players...
With the first goal, everyone of Barça was set up for the attack, so basically everyone was in front of the ball. Xavi lost the ball, an error rarely comitted by Xavi, which left lots of space open on our own half.
The second goal was just bad luck. The ball was deflected so Valdes couldn't get a good save...
The third goal happened just like the first. An error while the whole team is in front of the ball which leaves lots of space for the Chelsea attackers.
That indeed doesn't mean we played bad defense, it means we made two errors. Two errors that were converted into goals by the chelsea offense. Normaly you can recover from those errors, but the only thing we can do is compliment Chelsea for being so effective...
