More than 3.000 Barca fans will be making the trip to Stamford Bridge next week to see their team take on Chelsea in their UCL second leg game. There's never been so many Barca fans at an away game that's not a final.
There's a buzz of excitement amongst the fans this year and the take up of tickets for the Chelsea game is just one more example of how the supporters are getting behind the team. The 3150 tickets available -5% of the Stamford Bridge capacity have been allotted to Barca according to UEFA regulations, and they were all snapped up almost as soon as they went on sale.
Five planes
Barca's official travel agency, RACC, has chartered 5 planes to take the fans to England, one of which is also being used by the players and official party. The team will fly on an Airbus, with 360 seats and will fly out the day before the game, whilst the other 4 planes are set to make the ******d and return journey on match day itself.
Finals draw the crowds
This I sthe biggest number of Barca fans who've flown out to a European game, except for the many finals the team's played in. 45.000 fans made the trip to Seville for the European Cup final against 'Steaua de Bucarest, whilst 35.000 went to the Cup Winners Cup final in Basle in 1979 and the Spanish Cup final in Madrid in 1997.
