We just can't let these slip away. This was our big chance, RM aren't playing too well, and could lose poinst in any game, but we go and play like **** against a team that is at its top at the moment. Gosh... 4-1, not used to losing with those figures, we never concede that many goals, tells something about today's defence...

4-2 now, Eto'o, doesn't matter...

me cago en la puta mal parida de barca..... this was our chance and like last season we blew it, and we blew it big time, and what pisses me off more is that madrid are winnig underservely like last season, it just smells like last season.... casillas once again saving their asses, an offside goal, and the first red card should been to beto aswell as heinze....... but hell like any merengue would say "thats football", cause if its was barca it will be another "ayudadita"

this is the thing i always hated about barca...... they give hope one day and another day they go and take it away... like taking away candy from a kid.

Wow FR is stupid indeed and once again shows it, no Messi and Edmilson!?!?!?!?!?! LMAO

What was he saving him for Celtic or something?

I have no clue... Well, Edmilson in was somehow understandable, as we missed Rafa and Yaya, but still... And Messi on the bench? Didn't he realize that we need every point we can get right now in La Liga... For Celtic to kick us out of CL they would pretty much have to win us 2-0 at Camp Nou, and somehow I don't see that happening. Rijkaard should've realized that too, and put the first XI on the pitch.

The Von Trapps
last night was the perfect chance to see the 4 cracks together on the pitch, and see if they could deliver when we were 3 goals in arrears ...

I would have played Ronnie (due to his lack of speed) where Gudjo ended up playing (in that CAM role), and left Henry on the left, moved Eto'o into the middle (it is SUCH a waste to play him on the right), and brought on Messi for Edmilson ... Frankie apparently doesn't seem to think that sort of tactical nous is anything to be exercised ...

if Edmilson isn't Barcelona quality, then I don't know what to say about Gudjo ... he is just far too slow to keep up with our swift brand of football ... I'm sorry, there's just no two ways about it ...

to be honest, I thought Edmilson was OK ... Puyol and Milito put on a horror display at the back, and that's what led to the goals ... an own goal and a penalty conceded is just about as bad as it gets ... Zambrotta too was done for pace and skill on several occasions by former blaugrana Simão ...

Ronnie's wondergoal was great to see, but the rest of the night wasn't ... the skill and vision can never go away, but it's the final delivery that matters ... he slowed down every attack, which is such a disappointing and disconcerting thing to see ... unless he gets his stamina up to level, I don't think he should start ...

losing is not the worrying part ... it's the terrible defensive display that was horrible ... the attack was fine -- maybe bit weighed down (pardon the pun) by Ronnie ... just when it looked like we were building up a little momentum to our campaign, we get the wind knocked out of our sails ...

uummm...I believe I clearly stated that IT WAS AN ILLEGAL GOAL.....what do you want me to do, it happened, it was illegal the ref was a jerk, I cant say he was pro-madrid all the way because Iturralde has a reputation for being a horrible ref plus he did give Ramos that gay second yellow....

anyway why dont you worry about why you guys allowed 4 goals, and we worry about our poor play?

edmilson is defensive midfieler and messi 1 of 3 mans of attack..... you are saying thinks like calcuta mother man. edmilson was the only one "pivote" because yaya toure injured (no rested by rijkaard) and marquez too. i prefer to put iniesta in pivote gudjohnsen and xavi in mid.

Messi is your best player, it's stupid as hell to leave him out of a match like this and Edmilson LMAO!!!! I hope he plays more, with the amount of midfielders you had any other type of lineup would have been a hell of a lot better than what FR came up with.

Man what the **** happend to your defence though, I mean Zambrotta has been **** for a while now so I won't comment on him but Puyol and Milito got raped by Aguero...like everytime he got the ball.

I don't know, I guess they were a bit tired, and had an off-match... They've been playing pretty much every minute in every match.

Everyone needs to stfu. We lost one match, that's it. In 4 weeks, we cut Madrid's lead from 9pts to 2pts. 5 pts is nothing, we can do it again. We didn't lose to Levante or some crap team, we lost away to Atletico, one of the tougher grounds to play at in La Liga. It's not the end of the world, so please stop crying. Have faith, 5pts is nothing, and we can come back from this!

Visca el barcaaa!

P.S. Didn't Newcastle want Edmilson? Why the hell is he still here?

By the way, has there been a discussion about this picture yet? President of the Spanish FA Mr. Villar photographed wearing a Real Madrid jersey! Very questionable indeed......................... :kader::kader::kader: So much for administrative neutrality.

The image is from Marca if anybody is curious.

yes thanks, there has been a discussion.....however nobody has pointed out the context of the picture either...is not like the man just decided "Oh let me take a picture with a Madrid Shirt"....In light of the Atletico/Madrid Violence last time we met at Calderon the Football Federation, (along with all parties involved) was trying to send a goodwill message to the fans, that indeed both clubs can be friends, I am sure you guys never got your hands on the picture of Villar with an Atletico Shirt right? ...yeah, well it happened too.

I agree with solaimaa. It's a defeat away to Atletico, so it isn't the end of the world.

Besides, I wouldn't blame the defense much. They've been on the job this season and it's all fine. Zambrotta for some reason just can't start playing on a higher level, but the others have IMO earned their salary. Anyone can have an off day, and sadly for us it happened against Kun. Tough, but we have to deal with it.

Anyway, it's only five points. Nothing is lost. We have to come back stronger after this.

Of course, I have to mention Ronnie's masterpiece goal, but also say how sad it is that such a fantastic move didn't make any difference in the final result. What a waste of a great goal.

And I won't even comment on Rijkaard anymore. I'll just put my trust into him and hope that somehow, in the long run, everything will turn out fine.

Lets hope this is our last defeat this season.

In this case, the context is irrelevent. People around the world will see this picture of the President of the Spanish FA wearing a Real Madrid jersey. Will everyone who sees it get the nice explanation you provided? Don't think so. I searched for a while trying to find an english source explaining what you said, and the maximum I found was that the shirts were a gift to both Villar and Cerezo. Regardless of the context, the President of the Spanish FA should be more responsible than to get himself photographed supporting one bitter rival over another. Everyone knows the media tries to create controversey, and this is a perfect example of that. That idiot should think before being partial next time, and I'd be saying the same thing if we was pictured wearing a Barca shirt. Same can't be said of you guys, who are saying that it's ok now but if it was the other way around, we wouldn't hear the end of it.
