hmmm....hey, Jas, do you mean an idiot in the sense that he's a fool? Was he ever a prick in his time at Manu? Like being arrogant and disrespectful to others? I'd really like to know, bro, because I'm getting these conflicting reports about his personality all over the place.....I've watched several interviews with him in the french media and he seemed very affable, kind, like a cool dude to me

can you confirm or deny any rumours of him being a prick for me, bro?

I don't mean that he was an idiotic personality, but at times he's a total idiot between the posts.

It's a really tough call to discribe him, since he really is a good goalkeeper too.

General opinion here is exactly the same as most people have said here. Bring in Coupet and Frey. (coupet played pretty well vs Brazil yesterday too)

I don't think he will be the goalie for the French in Portugal.
Coupet was their gk in the anniversarygame for Fifa vs Brazil and that's a steady talented GK, more reliable than Barthez and let's face it the man is a clown :crazyboy:
Collina was right to give him a card but it could've been yellow IMO but then again Collina is a strict ref and one of the best if not THE BEST so he knows what he's doing ;)

Cheers

For me any referee would've red carded Barthez. From what i remember that was a two-footed reckless tackle, plus he was the last man. Anyway, i would take Coupet over Barthez any day.

Barthez is a top-class goalkeeper. However, he's had a tough time during the past seasons with man utd and now with marseilles. Well that only proves that **** happens. Nonetheless, no one will forget his antiques back in monaco and his heroics in france 98. For me, he is still Barthez and he deserves all the respect from everyone.
