I really like Villa, but c'mon 42 million for an almost 29 year old player, its ridiculously high. I was thinkin 30 million was tops, but Valencia need alot of money and are robbing us blind.

You guys bought Zlatan who was 28 for 40 millions + Eto'o (which comes to about 60 millions). Most of you guys here were saying his price was right and fully justified...

Both are the exact same age now btw.

Well, these 40-millions have become like 20-millions some years ago. Now, 40 millions seem to be a normal price for a great player.

When others pay 90+ for a player, you can expect more of 40+ in the future. The prices in the market have boomed.

I know... That's the trend these days. I was just telling ArgVega that 42 millions for Villa is less than the amount you guys paid for Zlatan. And they're the same age as well.

I thought we pay a lot for Ibra, due to Florentino's monopoly money buys, and I was always against Eto'o leaving.

But it don't matter, I guess as Arnau said this is a campaign buy so it was always gonna be overpriced. Whatever Pep wants he gets, and that is the way a club should be run, to the managers taste.

because they need a great striker and Ibrahimovic is not what they were searching. Great strikers are very rare nowdays that's why they're so desperate about Villa

How can a not "great" striker be the topscorer of EURO 2008 and every year in top 5-6 goalscorers of La Liga. You probably didn't watch his performance in La Liga in last years or his performance in EURO. He's a great striker,I don't know how well he could adapt to our style.
