Not to be too pedantic or anything, but it was the UEFA Player of the year award.
I hope he wins the Ballon d'Or as well, he definitely deserves it.

The Ballon d'Or is awarded at the end of the year. Iniesta won Ribery's award in 2012 while Messi won the 2012 Ballon d'Or

I read that in 2009 the Ballon d'Or and the FIFA Award were merged, so before 2009 the Ballon d'Or was the UEFA Player of the year award, not anymore, my bad.

Which situations? is worthy to sign a CF of the level of Manz only for very few emergencies? i'd say no, Dongou or even Cesc could do the job.

Indeed a pure #9 helps but Mandzukic is too good to have such a minor and specific role in squad, there is only one Larsson... Alexis did so for few minutes against Paleti the other day, shame he cant finish.

Oh come one it's not the first time he's tried Lahm there. They improved tremendously when Martinez went in and he moved to the right.
