FCDB XP problems !!

I'd used Soccered's Div1Stars patch which replaced MLS [not my choice - Switzerland or Korea are far less important to me]. I also replaced Galatasaray with my beloved Division 2Champs, BHA - which does not show up either in fcdb.

Anyways, when I open eng.dbi or amr.dbi I see the original EA Sports leagues and teams. My edits are not there - is this because Fifa does not save changes to these files if edited within the program directly?

cheers,

zig :D

Current Patches use the Creation Centre edits. These make a new file called FIFA02
FIFA doesnt overwrite the real data because when u reset data, it gets the reset info form these datafiles. FIFA doesnt even know they are edited in FCDBXP or Fed, for all it knows they might as well be the origial data files.
This is why we dont lose commentary.
Also, because of the same reasons, this means changes made in Fed to an edited team, wont show up till u choose that team and reset its data.
Thats all

Maybe I am stating the obvious but perhaps FCDB XP is for XP??

:) And it is for XP machines:D and maybe the XP part of FCDB XP is suppose to tell us :)

I used all my brain power to get that one ;)

I think it is wrong for FEd. In FIFA 2001 u didn't have to reset it to be able to play with those teams. But maybe in FIFA 2002? Oh well wait and find out. And for the FCDB XP users, tisk tisk tisk. i am still gonna use FEd!!!:D :rockman: :rockman: :rockman:

My guess is that the program uses unicode routines (for 16 bits characters) which Windows 9x and Windows ME have limited support for. Windows 2000 and Windows XP should have no problem with them.

Sylvain, contact me if you want more info on this unicode thing.

I think it is a great program, just give Sylvain a bit more time.

Yep I'm sure FCDB_XP will be great as soon as Sylvain fix that thing...

btw Mr. Chau Le, I was wondering, will Fed2002 be able to export/import teams in a separate file as Fed2001 did???

wait u seem to have misunderstood me on Fed.
What i was saying is that, it edits the REAL database not the saved one. Which means Creation Centre changes can be reset, but only back to the your Fed edits. I went on to say(and this is where i didnt explain myself very well), that if u have a saved team or player(eg. if u have changed Harry Kewells attributes or changed Australias Team Management) than the saved ones, not the Fed ones will stay until u reset the player or Team. Trust me thats how it worked for 2001, and thats how it is, or will be going to work for 2002. I have tested the beta of the program, and so know this as a fact.
I hope i explained myself better this time..:D

someone said earlier in this thread that i can correct the Violation error. he said that i had to rename the fcdb.dbi to fcdb_eng.dbi and it would work.
it doesn't, it says that it has an incorrect index
is there someway to bypass the violation error and actually use FCDB XP more than once?
or shall i have to wait for FEd?

dunno, they said we should post at there site, so we do, and they dont reply!!
about the fcdb and fcdb_eng things.
I dont think the literally meant swap their names.
This wouldnt make sense, as one of these files contains player data, etc, one names etc.

yup... earlier i posted that FCDB works for me... but i found out that some players cannot be copied. Players like djalminha, mauro silva, savio all get an error message when i try to copy them. May i know what is the problem?

The problem is that FCDB just don't work at least not on computers that are not running XP. I just reinstalled FIFA2002. No more FCDB for me, it's gonna be Fed again.
