If this works the same as FIFA 07 (and I see no reason why not - these areas don't seem to have changed between the two versions) then I doubt you will find them by scouting, any more than you'd find Goeke or Drill in FIFA 07 by scouting. You will have to be patient and hope they get signed to a computer controlled team and you can sign them away. Just like Goeke/Drill they will be damned expensive though, because they start at such a high level.bob_ng_1989;2429656 said:have anyone found Ian Livesey or Jerry Nelsen? my scout cant find him despite many attempts..
How so?? If you have DB Master (or UniDB or some other similar tool) then you can find those players for yourself and see that their individual attributes are high enough to produce the overall rating given. I don't know of any tools other than my dump programs that will calculate the overall ratings, but you can always create a player that matches the attributes found in the database to prove that I'm not talking rubbish.Ashman23;2430149 said:I think someone is blowing smoke up our a$ses.
I believe that this is all unchanged from FIFA 07, so I'll quote myself from the archives on the official EA UK forums:sreg0r;2432740 said:I'm still trying to figure out how the good/normal/elite/quick growth type and potential relate
"Each combination of development style (eg. Elite, Sleeper) and development type (eg. Early Bloomer) maps to one of fifteen curves along which the player's skill attributes develop. The type is also used to map to one of three curves for physical attribute development (ie. acceleration, sprint speed, stamina, strength and GK reflexes).
The shape of the Average, Gifted and Elite curves are essentially the same - a steady increase to a plateau of several years and then a gradual decline - but Elite players generally grow a little more and spend a little longer at or near peak than Gifted, and Gifted a little more than Average. The shape of the other two styles is fairly obvious from their names, with Short Prime being similar to Average but taking slightly longer to peak and then falling away almost immediately and Sleeper showing little or no improvement for some years before suddenly blossoming to a plateau that is similar to Elite but generally shorter.
However, the thing to bear in mind with development curves is that they are not the be-all and end-all when it comes to player growth because there is an overriding cap to improvements - the player's potential value (which is hidden even for created players). Thus an Elite player may suddenly stop growing because they've reached their potential rather than the plateau of their curve whilst an Average player continues to grow because they have the room to do so under their potential."
On top of all that you have the XP system to factor in, which has two effects (bugs notwithstanding) in that it provides a boost to potential of anything between 1 and 9 points (or more accurately between the learningspeed value and four more than that value) plus boosts to individual attributes (which are still capped by potential).
