Any teams in the top ten FIFA ranked teams? Nope! We beat two teams ranked in the top ten, you and Mexico. All from a pool of players according to you who play a totally different game called soccer.

Oh, and in February our under-17 team killed you 5-1 despite us having a player sent off after 12 minutes for a handball which tv replays proved didn't actually take place. Don't tell me, another fluke! It's funny how everything that disproves you is a fluke and a one-off but your actual opinions that have zero factual basis we're all supposed to take as the absolute truth.

I refer to the a British word for the summarizing of your post: bollocks!

US football team sucks...they beat portugal in Worl Cup cause the Portugal's best players were injured or in bad shape, as all others European Countries that have all their strong players in the most competitive Leagues in the world-Italy,France,England,Spain,Sweden,Denmark...
Same to Argentina- in my opinion the best Squad in the World!!!!

QUIZ : where Americans footballers play ???

I can tell you where best Portuguese players play for
Luis Figo- Real Madrid (Spanish League)- Best World FIFA player in 2002, second in 2001 , 4 place in 2000 and six place in 1999, eight place in 1998...
Rui Costa-AC Milan (Italian League)
Sérgio Conceição-Inter Milan(Italian League)
Pauleta -Bordeaux(France)
Caneira-Bordeaux(France)
Simão Sabrosa -Benfica(Portugal)
Deco,Maniche,Vítor Baía,Jorge Costa-FC Porto(Portugal
João Pinto, Sá Pinto,Rui Jorge-Sporting (Portugal)
Jorge Andrade-Deportivo Coruña(Spain)

Talk about exagerration!

Eh, O'Brien plays for Ajax, McBride is currently playing with Everton, Friedel plays with Blackburn and was with Liverpool before, Keller plays for Spurs, Landon Donavan played for Levakusen last season. The rest all play in the MLS which I will admit to anybody on the face of the earth isn't a strong league at all currently but the players who come through each year are making it stronger hence the fact our USA world cup squad had an average age of 22!

So, we're supposed to buy the excuse that everybody was ill/out of shape/missing then for your team's world cup exit. What's with that? So, in the whole of Portugal you only have a handful of players able to beat the USA team? If we're so bad then surely you could pull together anybody in Portugal to beat us. The truth is you didn't. That is a fact. Your excuses are just excuses, not hard facts.

All the trophy's you point to winning? Don't see any world cups or European champonships there. Or even any runner's up or third place spots? You point to youth successes 12 or more years ago and somehow from that we're supposed to believe that your team is on the way up despite all those players bein in their 30's now!!! If you haven't replicated it since then obviously the youth teams you've had since aren't as strong as the ones you had then.

Nobody, including myself is saying that Potugal have a crap team. They were one of my favourites before the world cup to do well and their exit shocked me too. They had a great qualifying tournament but then wiped out in the opening round. Figo is one, if not, the world's best at the moment and some of the other players you list on your main squad are awesome players. The point is that the USA isn't so pathetic as you like to point out not that Portugal are crap!

Understand that you don't know everything about soccer/football and only an idiot thinks there is a difference between the two. The game is still in it's infancy here in the States but it's the same game as European football/futball or whatever else it's called in various countries. Unless you're assuming that FIFA, the governing body of world soccer know far less about football than you, you'll see they happen to rank (using results, ie. factual performances) the USA at number 10 in the world. A lot higher than many other nations who are supposedly "hard core" football experts. We aren't the best but we're a long, long way from being anywhere near the worst and we're not exactly ranked too far behind you.

Coming on here and blaming the USA for EA Sports making a crap soccer game is pathetic. It's just like saying Europeans know nothing about football because they've bought FIFA 2003 in it's millions and until last year pretty much ignored the Konami titles. Therefore, by your logic, the Japanese are the Gods of football because only their population understand what is needed in a football simulation. It may just be down to the fact that EA Sports hire a bunch of idiots as their researchers, game testers, programmers and marketing staff rather than the fact they are located in Canada or anywhere else in the world.

Take your beef with the USA elsewhere. None of the facts back you up, the only thing you use as weight are excuses and hopefulness which compared to hard results mean zero. Your opinion compared to facts is worthless and the fact you're one of about three people in the entire soccer gaming forums who doesn't understand that there is no difference between soccer and European football just highlights you as being an idiot. Even people who don't care for American soccer that much still acknowledge it's the same game but you're too stupid or ignorant to even admit that!!!

Nobody blames Americans for all that crap EA game...in terms of hard results i must say this ...
1966...World Cup (in England) : 1st place- England
2nd place Germany
3rd place PORTUGAL

1994...European Cup(in France) : 1st place-France
2nd place-Spain
3rd place-Portugal
2000...European Cup(in Holland and Belgium): 1stplace -France
2nd place-Italy
3rd place-PORTUGAL

In all those ocasions Portugal lost semi-finals with the Champions ;
in 1966: England,2-Portugal,1...EUSÉBIO was considered the best
in 1984 : France,3-Portugal,2...in extra-time
in 2000: France,2-Portugal,1...in extra-time(with that "golden goal from Zidane from the Penalty spot(very, very, very unfair one)

So shut the **** up !!!!!:crazyboy: :crazyboy:

Yeh!!!You're right...USA managed to be in 10th place...they usually defeat powerful Squads like Honduras, Jamaica, Canada, Trinidad Tobago,México,...those BIG and POWERFUL squads.

The Europeans have to play with each others...what would happen to USA if they had to play against teams like France, England,Holland, Germany, Spain,Italy, Ireland,Scotland,CHe.Republic,Portugal, Sweden, Romania, Poland, Denmark,Switzerland,Finland,Norway, Hungary, Yugoslávia(Sérvia/Montenegro),Slovenia,Slováquia, Ukraine,Russia, etc...??????? It will be very diferent!!!!!

All this proves.

All this proves is that you don't even understand the ranking system that FIFA use! It's best to not shoot yourself in the foot when you start an argument by proving your ignorance up front! Here the simple guide so you can go back and edit/delete your post to make you not look totally ignorant:

You get a certain number of points for winning a game or tying a game. The number of points you gain depends on the ranking of the team you played against. Therefore you would get more points by tying with Brazil than you would for tying with Wales. In fact, if you bother actually reading the ranking system in full, you would actually gain more points in the ranking system for tying with Brazil than you would for beating Wales becasue of their positions in the overall rankings. Therefore, my intellectually challenged friend, the USA could beat crappy teams all the time and not move very far up the rankings at all. The European teams have the opportunity to gain good points more often tha we do given the strength of some of the teams on the European continent. And please don't point to the CONCAF weak teams when in Europe you have Lithuania, Faroe Islands, etc.!!!!! Please! Are you trying to tell me that teams like these and some of the ones you mentioned like Finland are stronger than Mexico?

I'm not doubting that European soccer is way way stronger on the whole than US soccer. I have never questioned that. The whole point of my original argument was that 'soccer' and 'football' are the same sport and the USA aren't completely crap are soccer. Nobody has been trying to say that the USA are the best team in the world. You've missed the point completely and proved in the meantime that you don't even know how the world ranking system works.

Sorry, a small joke but just meant to highlight that unless FIFA 2004 has improved the gameplay then every team and every name, face, uniform in the world won't save them from the fire that will engulf the EA offices set ablaze by disgruntled FIFA 2004 purchasers!

according to an interview I read last year, it wasnt up to the dev team to decide what the priority was, it was a corporate decision to put more detail and effort into graphics. According to EA they had a new team for fifa last year, which is bigger this year, and has people from all over the world working together. So fifa 2004 is going to be the first time this new dev team has time to make a game, because last year they had to rush it as they also made the WC game.
also in the EA forums, they have said they are concentrating on gameplay.. but until we play the demo it will be hard to judge wether fifa has a chance to compete

Every year they say that they are going to work on gameplay and every year they say it's the most advanced gameplay system "EVER!!" and every year it's the same ol' steaming pile of sh*t. Until Electronic Arts ACUALLY releases a game that isn't total crap, I don't have any expectations from those people...

And what about Spanish team ???? What they do ????? They never won Portugal team since 1969...
Or the "País Basco" squad ???????
And remember this: Portugal only have 10 000 000 habitants and we are managed to sell , every year , good players for other Leagues, even in your Spanish "Primera Division", how many players had play in Portuguese teams ????? I can give you an extensive list ; we work very seriously in our youth teams, specially Sporting - players like Paulo Futre(remember him), Luis Figo, Luis Boa Morte, Dani,Sá Pinto, and now Ricardo Quaresma,Cristiano Ronaldo, Carlos Martins,etc...

You must know what i'm talking about, cause Athletic always use players that have been born in País Basco, isn't it ??????;) ;)
