FIFA 2005 1-hour online preview in Spanish Campus Party

I've edited the video to show the 2 games only, nothing more. No creation Zone, no editing the players', JUST the in-game footage of the matches.

First match played on Normal speed, second match played on Fast or 'Rapido' as they call it (I think so anyway, my spanish isn't so good).

I'll upload the video once I'm given permission by PlusNet, cause they've blocked me from uploading any files.

I just saw the movie and have the following reaction. I had two main complaints with FIFA 2004 (there were many others but they've all been covered here many times).

1. When receiving a ball passed from a teammate, the ball would touch the player and bounce off far enough from the player where it would make it too easy for the opponent to take the ball away. This seems to have been corrected by FIFA 2005 with First Touch.

2. Passing would usually be made to the closest teammate, giving you no ability to pass it to an uncovered teammate which was further away. I've read that PES4 has fixed this problem by letting you press the pass button longer which passes it to a player further away. Seems like an easy solution that has not been addressed by FIFA. I'm surprised more people don't complain about that here since the ability to pass to an open teammate regardless of where he is on the field is key in real soccer.

On all other fronts, the game looks promising.

In Euro 2004 u hold down the left trigger and press pass and you can choose the power. They'll probably keep this in FIFA 2005. :rockman:

NK,

Never played Euro so didn't know they had that. I hope they do keep that because it's critical. Either they removed it from FIFA 2005 or the players in that campus video didn't know how to use it.

Thanks for the info.

He said that the same studio that did Euro 2004 is planning to make a Champions League game.

I wonder what was the region 2 on Career mode, 'cuz they didn't get to show it. They shown the others but no Region 2. Hmm, could it be the one of Argentina, Brazil and Mexico?

The long passing system has been completely redesigned. In Fifa2005 the ball will no longer go to the players. You'll be able to place the ball where ever you want, depending on how much power you give the pass. Meaning that, the ball will no longer land at the feet of your teammate, you will have to move around for it this time. In the first game they played, the guy was showing the other player how to do it. I think he said that if you double tap, the ball would be sent at mid-range elavation, and there will be also the option of chipping the ball to a team mate to get rid of a defender.;)

This is all aside from the Off the Ball - Control option. Which will send the ball directly to your players.

Awesome! I like that cause OTB control is harder to do, so to get a good accurate pass will require better timing and more skill.

True, if they remove it from FIFA so that you buy another game that has it in there, then screw it...it's be such a rip off.
