I'm just happy that they made Henry with his socks pulled up past his knees just like he wears them...that's awesome!

what is the crossing like? is it better than fifa 2004? also does the A.I vary there play. in Fifa 2004 all they done was go through the middle. can you create one on one chances now?

i think fifa 2005 is a great game. i just cant wait for the full version to come out. I cant wait to play aS Man United in Old Trafford. this game is going to be outstanding. the first touch is very well put together and the aniamtions and everything feel and look like it is real. i feel EA has finally got a good soccer game on their hands. I believe it could even beat PES8 or WE8 in fans. does anyone else agree with me?

This is a Fifa 2005 forum so i supose there are many who will agree with you. What makes me happiest is that the more i play the demo, the more i like it, which was not the case in all demos i can remember...

I found out it was bad after about 10 or so games. All the goals were similar and it actually was way too easy to score from outside the box. But I've played I would say at least 30 games of FIFA 2005 and it just draws me back. I have noticed some problems but only minor ones. It just needs a bit of tweaking here and there.

Same here, I'm just addicted :P

I like the game flow but some things that ticks me off. Penalties are completely a big disaster, the keeper will guess the shot and will save, the keeper will never miss them, he will either guess and save or jump the oposite way and will not be able to save the shot. Way to go EA. There are some other problems too but its been mentioned here so I am not going to touch on it.

I seen Cole couple of times making those runs down the wing to support for those crosses.

Ya i agree... Penalties do suk. And the gameplay is a little too pinballish.

But on the whole... I find myself enjoying this game. (Maybe it's because my expectations were so low)

Dribbling's kinda fun!!

Cole is actually pretty fast. I saw in the database that he's accelleration was 90 which is about right. Where he is underrated is in creativity and long balls.

But my biggest problem with the game is player movement. It's easy to send a player on a run but it's difficult to get a team running forward... most goals have been scored by strikers. Hopefully in the full game we can adjust the tactics to fix this. I still think the game is great but I can see room for improvement.

I just started playing as Milan after playing as Arsenal always. There is quite a big difference in styles. I notice when playing against Milan they go through the middle a lot and they sit deep. But Arsenal use the wings a lot more and it's easier to counter attack against them because there's a lot more space in defence.

I'm very happy to see a difference in styles because Milan can frustrate you and not give any space. But it's good to see not all teams play the same.

Yes, Arsenal have a more wing play style, is great to see that the teams have different styles ... about crosses someone mentioned that was the same of FIFA 2004, this is a lie, crosses are completely rebuild... now we can make a cross with more power and the movements are way better... just when you play you can see what i'm talking about.

i mean the goalies are supermen!!!
they save every shot from the top corner.
also is there a way to curl the ball?

EA never seem to be able to get the balance right when it comes to the keepers.

I've just played some more and it just gets better. I'm now using the trigger player runs button a lot to get my midfielders and forwards moving around and it works a lot better. I was having a lot of 0-0 results but just then had a 3-0 win with a midfielder scoring a goal. All the goals were well constructed team moves.

To finish off one on ones, just like it real life, it's best to play the ball along the ground. So just tap the shoot button as you would do in PES. I thought that the goalies were superhuman as well but once I've started doing these sorts of shots I have found that they're not. They are still very good but beatable. They make some amazing saves from long shots but it helps keep the balance just right unlike last year where every second long shot would go in. I don't think every goalkeeper in the game will be as good as the ones in the demo.

Also, curling the ball depends on the situation. If you hit the ball from distance and are sprinting towards goal your player will most likely hit a piledriver. If you tap the shoot button from anywhere the player will do a shot along the ground. But if it's somewhere in between the player will most likely curl the ball if you are not moving too fast and are in the right stance. I pretty much have figured out how to do the right shots in the right situation. But the re's no button to specify curl. The curl on the ball this year is much more realistic though.

AndrewC,

Do you know if in the final game whether or not different crowds will have different reactions to goals? English crowds usually react with a "YEEEAAhH!!!!!!", whereas italian, turkish, and spanish crowds usually react with a "GOOOOLL!!!!!"

if EA does this small yet crucial detail, i MIGHTTTTTT MIGHTTT consider getting this game.

You have connections with EA (via Matt Holme) right? Can you please find out?

It'd be much appreciated.
