Hi m8s again...

I would like to ask this to all PES3 players... Besides FIFA 2004 or EURO 2004 you think that there is not any room for improvements in PES3? There is no comment on my previous post about this...

I can easily point a few things that concern the gameplay, the presentation of the game e.t.c.

For example...

...I played for hours against the AI on levels 3,4,5 - against good teams. The AI shot a total of 50-70 fouls - around. It scored once, my keeper stopped the ball once or twice and the rest of the shots went out - or far out. I do not think that this is much realistic. To be honest when I was in a difficult case I could make a foul close to my post and then I had the ball for a free throw - since the ball went out...

If you want I can point more wrong cases in PES3, so I would like to hear your opinion about my post...

Take care...

I do think that PES and WE have there problems, its not the perfect game but it is the best soccer game out there compared to others. Things i dont like in PES WE are the fouls, the ref, the keeper, and thats about it. Oh and of course the licensing but snece we have kit maker in the WE PES fourms that not much of a problem anymore. Konami have said they are improving this thou to make the game perfect. I will admit that Fifa are get better but they are still miles away from Konami games.
:) This is my opinion.

I believe thats worth a red card.

Euro 2004 is a small step up from FIFA 2004, but it is still nothing to PES3/WE7.

Yes I will.

Threads never get closed that have quality contructive criticism in them. If threads are just going to become FIFA vs PES threads (the most over used topic in any soccer games forum) then they will get closed due to the fact they are repeatitive.

I have WE7i and FIFA 04. I love all EA Sports games so I want FIFA to be better than WE, but its just not as good right now. I think the main reason WE is better is because it has a better flow during play. We all know FIFA is ahead in cinematics, cutscenes and graphics but actually playing I must say FIFA isnt as good. But the only things that I really dont like about FIFA is how on PS2 it is so easy to steal the ball by pressing O(conservative tackle) and its easy to get the ball stolen. And then of course the speed of the players are not represented like it says they are rated. for example if Henry is one on one with a defender with 80 speed I should be able to run by him more easily. But besides this I love FIFA. I love WE to they are both good games in they're own ways. Oh yeah and I forgot one more thing I hate, those nets are like brick walls come one FIFA....

If you read what I said I said I like FIFA. I was talking about the FIFA series And Euro 04 is not much different atleast in the demo so you shut the hell up. Its people like you thats why FIFA doesnt get much better every year. You have to let the creaters know when something sux... I want EA to rule the soccer gaming industry....

Its kind of hard to say whos right..... On one hand, euro 2004 is much better than fifa 2004 (and we haven't even looked into the management portion of it) on the other hand, it has the same gameplay engine, some of the same few bugs, and sort of the same feal. I still think that it is better though.

The reason FIFA doesn't get any better each year yet people still buy it is the same reason lions don't starve in the jungle! There's always a constant supply of dumb animals to come along to provide a meal!

Euro 2004- Improvement on Fifa 2004, but far from touching PES series

Good things about Euro 2k4 V Fifa 2k4

- They improved the dribbling system, its possible to beat players now
- Long shots fixed- you can't just score em by blasting em form the edge of the area
- Pacing of the play is more true to life than FIFA
- Corner & Free Kick System refined- its no longer possible to just pick the right options and guarantee a goal
-Off The Ball system refined- it no longer provides those laser guided passes, more natural.

Why Euro 2004 is worse than PES

- The passing system is HORRIBLE, often you'll be pushing the diagonal keys to get a diagonal pass, but it'll go straight OR you'll tap W and it'll go a mile. Still too clunky, the passing system in PES feels smoother
- Dribbling I- I'm not a fan of the "freestyle" system used in FIFA, basically cos it doesn't provide the variation that the dribbling system in PES does. In PES, the tiniest touches on the ball make a difference, in FIFA it just feels like theres very lil natural variation in the way the ball moves.
- Dribbling II- the "skill moves" are a nice addition...BUT when the player turns on the ball its the same thing each and every time. Its too scripted. You push shift, he nutties or jinks. In PES when you're beating players its more about using your touches on the ball to beat the defender...theres more of a natural feel to it
- Animations- player passing looks...wrong. It just doesn't look right. Shooting...same thing, players go for weird volleys and strange side foot shots and it doesn't look very natural. Its SMOOTHER than PES, but PES animations and mechanics look more realistic.
-Keepers- the keepers in FIFA are just too good, they're like lightning off the line, and claim crosses and get to the feet of player too well.
- FIFA feels scripted, you know if you do certain moves/patterns then you can either beat players of be guaranteed a goal- hence it gets repetitive

Thats just my take on it

again, WE/PES graphics and animation are 10x better than FIFA... Has been proven many times in various boards.. If you think FIFA's better than you obviously haven't played WE/PES

Hi there again...

Another problem of PES 3 is that you can 't "ask" from a player that does not have the ball to run forward - even if you do not give him the ball. This is something that is happening all the time in real soccer and I do not see it in PES 3. I try to change my tactics by pointing arrows to my wing players but nothing happend again. The player that is going to make this move will also drag a deffender with him, so you will have more space in case you take the decision to attact by yourself...

Let me know your opiniom about this... I also did not hear your remarks about what I said for the fouls on PES 3...

See you...

Tried the New Euro 2004, not bad, but still feels like pinball.

Still find passes are way too fast, its like you are shooting (not passing) the ball from one player to another.

Shooting, free kicks, clearances always seem to be hit with maximum strenth.

Game plays way too fast.

Passing doesnt always go in the direction you want to.

Still very hard to do quick one, two, three passes to get through a defence, or even build a real attack.

There are quite a few things I found annoying with this game. I really do hope EA can eventually get a game that does become challenging. The groundwork is there, they just cant seem to implement that feeling of random gameplay, it all still does feel scripted.

Will definately give the full version a go, but hopefully they can produce a bigger leap by Fifa 2005.

Sken
