How can you renew the contracts of bums like Lampard and Drogba when they get so old? I don't get it. They always demand massive wages, so I can only assume that you accept their outrageous demands.

It might, I had the assistant handle friendlies so I'm only now starting to work out what my bet starting eleven is.

And yes, I did cave in to their demands, more or less. Got them on as low a wage as I could and later changed their status back to rotation.

I don't really have a problem with keeping them on high wages, since they're club icons and I want them to retire at the club, and since I can afford them now, and don't foresee any tranfsers soon, I don't mind. Guys like Kalou, though, who didn't play and wanted high wages to be a backup can **** off.

F*ck you guys. All this talk about FM makes me want to play the game so badly. Wish these exams would make themselves... (H)

Why is this man's value so low? He is 'indispensable' for Mallorca, is only 26, played 30+ matches for them for each of the last 2 seasons and he is not transfer listed.

To answer Fili's earlier question, no Mata central and Gotze on the wing (although on the right, not on the left) is what works best for me.

Finished 2nd season, having acquired Neymar for 45m in January and he exploded scoring 5 in his first match, 11 in his first 4, 18 in his first 6, and around 24 over the rest of the season (for a not as impressive but still impressive 24 in 25). Injuries to key people sucked, but having lots of players to rotate allowed for a good season. Won the CL again from ManU, this time 5-2 (Terry from a corner, De Gea own goal, two well-placed Sturridge efforts and one from Hazard after he skinned Vidic on the edge of the box). Also won the league on the 37th matchday, 4 points above ManU, 151 scored, 21 conceded. Lost to Arsenal in the FA semis, lost to ManU in the first round of the Carling, as well as in the Shield (Wigan went on to win the Carling). Won the European Super Cup and CWC. Finally faced some tough CL fixtures in Barcelona (lost 2-1 at Camp Nou and won 3-1 at home, in one of my prouder moments, having initially gotten my tactics wrong, went on to get them right and win), as well Athletic's 3-4-3.

Went with this tactic for most of the season:

Torres (Drogba)
Hazard (Neymar/Malouda) - Mata (Ganso) - Sturridge (Gotze)
Mikel (Romeu/Bannan/Lampard/McEachran) - Ramires (Essien)
Cole (Bertrand) - Terry (Vertonghen) - Luiz (Ivanovic) - Bosingwa (Coleman)
Cech (Courtois)

Although I'm rotation heavy, so everyone got a chance. Hazard was spectacular with 30 goals and 32 assists, Sturridge with 37 goals, Neymar, Torres and Drogba all with 20 goals a piece, and Ganso, Mata and Gotze with assists in their 20s.

Sold Turnbull and Malouda now, since Turnbull failed to play what with Courtois refusing to go out on loan, and being brilliant. He'll replace Cech after the 2014 World Cup, I'm sure. He told me he wanted more games, I told him I'll sell him at the end of the season and started looking for a 3rd choice keeper for next season. Pleased to see Turnbull still likes me, despite it all. Got Handanovic (Xifio will be glad to see him rot on my bench), who I'll probably look to sell next season, unless he's content with no games. I hope Cech's decline coincides with Delac's becoming good enough, don't want Delac to rot as 3rd choice just because he's become too good to loan-out. Which will happen soo, since I'm already having to loan him out to Barca. Hope he rejects them in favor or Hajduk.

Malouda was still good, as was Meireles who I sold for 14.5, but they were getting old not getting games. Lamps, Cole, Drogba and Terry all have the contracts end this season. I'll definitely extend Cole and Terry for another season, but I'm sort of hopeful the other two decide to retire. I have ready replacements and they're just gonna get less and less games and I'm not going to sell them. Lamps got less than 20 games last season.

Also, why the **** won't anyone come in and take McEachran on loan? He's rotting on my bench, stagnated, and only one team has ever made a loan bid, Everton, and he rejected it. I get loads of offers for De Bruyne and Bruma and such, and McEacrhan is as good and no one bids. Ridiculous.

Also, twice in a row now my Championship feeder club have been promoted thanks to my loaned players and canceled the link. Birmingham have had the same help, but it remains to be seen if they go straight back down like their predecessors. Annoying as ****.

I'm kind of surprised you're playing Sturridge over some of those guys; in fact in my Gladbach game I had the opportunity to sign him relatively cheap as my striker, but passed on him because he didn't look good enough. Had him on loan one year in my Bayern game, and while he was an okay player, he didn't stand out by any means and was no more than a squad guy.

The rest of the team is really good, although the spine looks a little weak to me, but one thing I like about you is your loyalty to current Chelsea players.

I edited the database before starting the save and gave him -10 potential (amongst a lot of other changes). Sturridge has been brilliant. He's improved quickly and has generally made it difficult to bench him by scoring 70 or so goals over the two seasons.

Sort of depends on who else is on the field though. I don't generally like to play him and Neymar at the same time unless one of them is the poacher, for example.

I have an affinity towards the Chelsea players. It was actually a tough decision to let some of them go, especially Malouda, so I decided to only keep the true icons around, which in my book are those 4, Cech and Essien.

I find that a DLP-defend and B2B or BW-support with DLP-support, or against weaker opposition DLP-support and BW-support is generally solid enough to control the midfield. The DLP sits deep and makes himself available for a pass as well as act as a cover, and the B2B goes all around, or as a ball-winner just harassing the opposition more and attacking less. Mikel and Ramires play those roles perfectly for me.

My main issue has been setting up the perfect AM trio. Generally I've played Sturridge as an attacking IF on the right, with Neymar the same on the left (and occasionally on the right), but with more creative freedom, Hazard the same on either wing, generally on the left, with lots of creative freedom, Gotze on the right in a support IF role with lots of creative freedom and Mata and Ganso as Trequartistas, although also played Mata on the right like Gotze. Gotze and Hazard play as AMs through the middle. They've all worked more or less, but I find it difficult to make the central playmaker really run the show with consistency.

Anyway, van Aanholt was Bundesliga Defender of the Year last season, and Bruma will probably spend the season at Dortmund, and Kalas at Sunderland, so I think I'll push Cole to 3rd and Terry to 5th choice next season. He was 1st last season, but I'll play Vertonghen more, he was key against Barca last season, being a quicker player, I subbed him on and pushed for an attack, safe in the knowledge that the defense will handle Messi's speed on the break. He also scored a crucial goal from a corner in the return leg.

Started a save at Málaga, I said to the board i can challenge the title and they gave me €28M budget for transfers. I'm looking for a midfielder better than Apoño, 2 Cbs and forward/winger so i bidded Ander Herrera, Valero, Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Griezmann and Muniain. Still trust in RVN, Baptista and young Rondón so i'm not signing a CF yet, perhaps a Gk though.

Somehow Isco is in At.Malagueño (Malaga B) but i'm promoting and giving him a rotation role.

Rondon is really really good in this game. I've been trying to sign him for 2 years, but he thinks he's better than Gladbach.

This is what i got with the ridiculous budget the board gave me, Alderweireld too. ******* Athletic doesn't sell me Ander and want €20M for Muniain.

4 league matches so far. Lost against Sevilla draw against Mallorca and win over Athletic and Granada, decent start.

20m for Muniain is pretty fair, considering his potential. In the 2013-2014 the asking price is in the 40m range.

Finally got internet access at home, so I can upload this from last season:

I brought Bannan on in the 80th minute, he scored in injury time.

Also, is anyone else seeing WAY TOO MANY goals disallowed? I'm currently on a streak of 1-3 per match. Last season I got a lot of them too, but I generally battered teams and didn't notice it as much, and a lot of times my players ARE offside, but it's just far too common. In my last match I got 3, and and wound up losing, which was very annoying. It must be a match engine problem, because even if I consider that I instruct my players to be very attacking and play a lot of throughballs, it's still ridiculous. They're worldclass players against defense of all kinds, playing all sorts of styles, it's unimaginable that they'd constantly get caught offside.

Took the Croatia job. They wanted me after having been mathemtically eliminated from the qualifiers, 7 points off 2nd with 2 matches yet to play. Macedonia, Belgium, Wales, Scotland and Serbia in the group, Croatia are 4th, with Belgium and Serbia leading the group. Belgium's squad has improved vastly since they switched tactics and have 5 Chelsea players in their ranks. I hope Croatia won't be pissed at me if we don't get anything. I've decided to just experiment with them. I don't want to overly rely on Modric, but we will anyway. Going with a narrow 4-1-2-2-1 and a short passing game. Not enough good wing players and a lot of decent midfielders.
