I also downloaded the demo, and... they ONLY copied the main WE controls... that's it. Same rubbish gameplay... same unrealistic goals, which are scored the same way. The only thing I luved was the amazing commentary and statium sounds... that's it. The game is definetly LIGHT YEARS behind WE/PES. It is so shallow, I am 200% sure Wolf will be back playing WE in like 1-2 months... I mean, similar porcelain players making a scripted pass with a ball that 'slides' on the ground without even bouncing... that's alone a motive to uninstall the demo and make better use of my HD space...

Thanx tho for the patches Wolf, they really changed the game. But I'm pretty sure that the lack of depth in fifa will send u back... its really so shallow and EASY.. what is with all the players doing all the tricks in all the matches with the same key?! Unbelievable. Still light years behind...

Oh and the long balls that pass over all the players and magically gain a spin that makes the ball land PRECISELY between the legs of the targeted player marked by 2 defenders... how skillful and satisfying... specially when u see it a dozen times in a single-half...

The fouling is not that bad if u LEARN how to time it correctly..... and if u dont want the AI fouling u all the time u gotta learn how to go backwards, pass quicker, dribble in the right places.......im not saying WE9 is perfect but to me its def a 9/10 in the gameplay department.......


Yes the ML is getting kinda lame BUT konami always seems to hear the fans out for the next versions...... Im sure the next installment will have a more exciting ML since SO many ppl including myself have complained about this.......


ps- I dont see why u cant enjoy both games at the same time........ thats kinda lame...

I played Fifa06 demo very much and i can say it's still behind PES...
it doesn't give you the same tension konami game gives!
..and I didn't played WE9.

I agree about licenses and file re-encryption...
They should be proud of modders and the community..and help them more!
as games live becoze of the online community!

But i prefer a gameplay focused game,
rather than full licensed and crappy...
database can be updated.. crappy gameplay not.

wolf you can't say " if they pull there head out of there arse " and get licences. when it's first come first serve. ea will always outbid konami for the licences. and the fa's will always rather award them to fifa. as it's the more marketable game. it's not konami's fault they don't have the licences. thats all i have to say.

fifa is easier to patch for, and more editors come out. i think thats wolfs main reason. i agree with the other user and feel he has just got lazy. for someone who was pes 100% through and through. he soon jumoed ship to fifa. and not even been back here to check messages of good luck. well done on the patchs...but.. well there will be other patch makers.

The game of football in the end is all about the BALL, and the ball physics in FIFA06 are not very good ( as wolf himself has pointed out) if you play a game of football with a ball that is not at the right pressure then it will react differently to a ball at the correct pressure! That is why a ref will ask for a change of ball if the one of the park is not right! And so it is with FIFA! the ball is not coded in the right way !

Its movement is unreal, the ball s/glides along the grass ( as a "stun shot" snooker ball would glide across the baize ) and as for lobs kickouts and shots again the ball does not move in the correct manner.

I just had another go on the demo and Giggs had a freekick (against me) out on the wing near the sideline about 25/30yrds out, I kid you not the ball flew from his boot in a curving by the far post like 150+ mph if not faster..

The ball movement and ball speed is way off ... I will say this , if they could fix that "ball physics and speed" they would have a game on there hands..

I had my son play against me in the demo ( extened time game) and after about 3 or 4mins he asked me to stop the game! The ball player movement was making him feel sick ... now this is not a PES v FIFA thing , just a statement of fact!

For the strange thing is be plays fifa with his mates in his own house on his PS2 and has played FIFA for a few years until I got him into PES with PES4 ...

I mean if Konami can program ball physics and speed like they have done for years, then I can't see why EA can't do the same with there's in FIFA ( I am no expert on coding, you can put me right) but would the code for ball physics not be the same for each game, would it not just be a case of EA adjusting the No's for the ball physics to that of PES's !

As I don't know about coding for games , but if Konamis code for there ball physics were a group of numbers say for example "10,20,23,30,85" and that was the code that made Konami's ball fly and move the way it does, would EA be barred from using the same code numbers??

Yeah really true about the ball physics. this includeds ALL sports games which have a ball.

But yeah fifa 2006 has a very "at times" tracked ball mechanic while WE9 has what appears to be the best form of trickery going on in ANY sports game as far as ball physics are concerned. WE9 feels so good

I posted earlier thanking wolf, and i said I was going to try out the fifa 06 demo...just on his word...I downloaded it, played like 10 halves, thought, yeah, this is ok, but still not as good as we7 let alone 8 or even 9 (havent played it yet)...also, i just had to ask this question, am i the only one who has hit the post AT LEAST THREE OR FOUR TIMES A GAME in the fifa demo? it was starting to get annoying...guess ill be sticking with we after all

I'm leaving Konami's WE series as well to get a new RTWC FIFA 06 on XBOX 360 around December. I don't know if I made the right decision.

Wolf are we playing the same demo here??

FIFA06 feels so disjointed, some times excellent, sometime horribly average; especially when scoring goals. When you score its cool that you're winning but its definitely not convincing, its not a goal that you would see on a football pitch.

Play the Fifa06 demo then play a game of PES4, there's still no comparison.
