In FIFA Soccer 2003 for Playstation2 I think they should have made it say the guy would say GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL for atleast more than 8 seconds, I think its boring when you score a gol in this game.

No way!

I get pissed off enough when an Argentinian team scores when watching Channel 5, oh and a Brazillian team. Your commentators are nutters, I think I will stick to the nice traditional "Oh it's there! what a phenonimal strike!"

correct. or at least the commentary should be made in a way that one will know a goal has been scored. i.e not just "oh its there!"..."to me his best asset is his shooting"..."its their turn to smile now"... its too plain! probably coz of the space it would need. but they could have made commentary downloadable :rockman:.

Not boring. Just sensible. I want to watch football, I don't want some tit screaming goal. I have eyes, if it goes in, it goes in. Is football down your way that boring to need a mad commentator to liven a game up? Thought so.

i watch football because of the passion. when a goal is scored by the team i support and the commentator emphasizes that with much emotion, i feel it. and that goes the same if a goal is scored againt my team, the commentator makes me feel that a goal has been scored against my team. not some robotic person saying stuff like he doesnt know what a goal means in football.;)

Shame you did not pay as much attention in English class than you do with commentators

Dear God. Right when you say "i" you always type a capital letter when speaking in first person. Another one is never, ever start a sentence with "and", and the beginning of a sentence starts with a capital letter. If times are really that bad, you should think about 'getting rid of your gremlins'.

Oh, and John Motson knows his football, not like people you see commentating in matches like Independiente and Boca who have to read off of sheets profiles about people, that's just pathetic. If they put a bit more effort in knowing a bit about football rather than just reading out their history and current status and shouting GOOOOOOOOOAl when the ball goes in, football would be a much better game.

I like "Oh, it's there!" Sometimes that's how goals happen: an entire stadium surprised when the goal is scored. But there's no right answer - all the best announcers have their own style. It would be unnerving to hear Andres Cantar (is that how you spell it?) calmly announce, "O, mira" after a score.

But . . . if there's one thing all American fans can agree upon, we prefer ANYONE announcing a match other than an American announcer.

(Whoa: late update: I finally made Youth Team, I'm no longer a boot cleaner. It only took 4 years!)

are you getting marks for being the grammatically correct one here? tell me what has english grammar got to do the soccer gaming/fifa 2003 forums? can you enlighten me? if you measure people by their grammer online then i guess you ARE BORING and have nothing to do. one lesson you are yet to learn in forums is that if what i say is understood, its perfect language.;)

john motson knows his football. but not the limited version in fifa 2003. and FYI what makes football is the PASSION, otherwise football will be nothing. and the same applies to all great sports. tell me, in basketball, when some1 dunks, does the commentator say "he dunks."?

so i suggest if you want to pick up a fight, say something that makes sense and and something that one can reflect on not pointing out poor grammatical forms, as if that is the end of the world. :hisses:

i agree with you. but wouldnt you say that one thing commentators have in common is that they are passionate when a goal is scored. what is essentially bad in fifa is that it is limited, imo.

PS: man, it took you four years? :rockman: :)

Have you ever seen Fernando Niembro or Mariano Kloss do that?? Or Enrique Macaya Marquez or Marcelo Araujo do that, i don't think so, they are awesome comentators. I think you are deeply mistaken with what you say:rolleyes:

i might reply to that but it doesnt matter. i have no desire to argue with some1 that feels to cool coz he got the english language locked down and that means he is so improtant and highly educated.

never argue with a f00l, lest he bring you down to his level and beat you with experience. ;)

leave it at that man. we are talking about commentary here not who knows how to project an image of literacy on the net. leave it at that man. ;)

FIFA 2003 is supposed to be an accurate representation of a football match, perhaps of EPL matches with Motson as commentator.

Someone screaming 'GOAAAAAAAAL' is not exciting, it's annoying and tiresome. Motson's response to a goal is no less passionate - you think passion is determined by the amplitude of your voice?

And what about Barry Davies? He's a superb commentator, and a lot of the time he is absolutely SILENT when a goal is scored, contemplating what has happened and trying to think of an adequete and SENSIBLE response, rather than stating, er, 'GOALLLLLLLLL!'

:p
