Great job EA - Seriously!!

I must say that as far as I am concerned EA did a very good job this year.

The gameplay has improved a lot. It feels a lot more like soccer than ever before. Mission accomplised!!!! (Of course there is always room for improvement and it will be impossible to satisfy everybody - I can live with that)
Practice is back.
The stadiums can all be played at nighttime.
Great graphics.
I like the formationssystem.
The seasonmode is as far as I see it - an improvement of the latest years very onesided seasonoption. This is not a managergame...

I could go on. Off course I have also noticed the buggs, but I still think the game has improved so much. And to those of you who are complainíng about the goalkeepers/long range shots. Stop the long range shots and try to build up your attacks...

GOOODDD JOB EA!!!!! You deserve a lot of credit!!!

That's a nice theory but who in their right mind if they were 1-0 down with 1 minute to go in a cup final isn't going to rely on the method of shooting which they know will 75% likely result in a goal. The whole point of evolution in sports games is that you can't continue to score the exact same goals from the same place using the same scoring methods.

As for the career mode, if anything this has turned it more into a management simulation because you can't just go ahead and play regular season after season like you used to.

Playing at night? You mean a reduction in the gamma and contrast settings to give thei mpresion of nighttime play? You could be clutching at straws with this complement. I agree that the game is way better than last years but these points you make seem to contradict themselves a little.

Shhhhh...don't give EA the chance to feel good about themselves...give em hell and they will (hopefully) dish out a decent follow up of FIFA 2005...

I think if they can build (rather than deconstruct) on FIFA 2004 they can have a great game next year. It just depends on whether they continue to adopt the put something in-take somethign vital out approach.

Honestly, the fact is they tried to get FIFA 2004 up to par, obviously some features they have acknowledged they didnt have time to put in the game, and at least this means for FIFA 2005 they will. At least the gameplay is flowing smoother, and now they don't need to reinvent the gameplay next season allowing for more time to do dynamic weather, fix the shooting, and all the other stuff that people want in the game, basically it's like FIFA #1, because it's a start of a new direction for FIFA games, so they have to evolve all over again, they weren't just going to be able to get FIFA 2003 add in a creation centre or something and call it better, they actually wanted to do something which is beter then FIFA 2003(which it is), but something they can build upon for the next few years.

Well regardless, we should be happy that there are decent soccer games available for PC, PS2 etc., especially for us Americans living in a country where more people hate soccer than love it. I bet if EA were based in Europe and not USA/Canada the product would be better. Just a guess. i look at "Goal" and the early FIFA games from PS1 and am impressed with how far they have come. EA just needs to know that we want editing and custom tourneys. Thats not too much to ask.

I couldn't have said it better myself. That's exactly what I think. Couldn't agree more...
It's nice that you can actualy score form outside the box in this year's game, but not that EVERY shot from outside the box to the goalkeeper's furthest post result as a goal... that's not fun.

Anyway I'd rate FIFA 7.50-8/10 and that's the higher score I've ever gave to a FIFA game.

See ya!

Again. Couldn't agree more. Dude you're stealing thoughts out from my mind... :p
EA's mistakes are always that they take the good things they've built in the previous versions.
If for FIFA 2005 they used this year's game as the whole base, then it'll be a great game, because they have to fix minor details (which aren't few, but aren't a lot either)... like not scoring the same goals from the same places again and again, give the player face's some kind of expression while they are playing... (e.g like opening the mouth, lowering the head while shooting)... right now they seem to be robots, and that kind of things. Then it could be a great game.
But they can't absolutely take out the great features they included in this year's game. Like the Off The Ball control, Walking, Shooting Low, etc.
They should also add more specific animations for the players, like the way certain players kick the ball, or shoot the free kicks. Just like in PES 3. I've noticed that the way David Beckham shoots, walks, run, kicks the ball in PES 3 is just like the real one by Becks himself, in FIFA every player shots the same way or almost. They have to work lot more on that kind of things.

See ya!

Naa, bro see he's not stealing anything. You're both PES fanboys so you're SUPPOSED to think alike. It's no surprise to me at least.

Anyway, such a nice gathering of lame fanboys again. Good to c, good to c... Fact is though, that you have your own forum and you can take ur thoughts there. And mods should really do something about it, cos these days there can't be a thread where someone says he likes the game, without getting criticized by a ton of lamers. It's a FIFA forum for god;s sake, people here are supposed to like the game ! Oh well...if only I was a MOD that's all i can say...some people are really not doing their jobs right - dont get me wrong, right of speech is a good thing but this forum is supposed to have a purpose, which is to share the enjoyment of the game and give ideas of making it better...

Sadly, what i see here is none of the above...again, red cards would've been flying if i was a mod :kader:

Hey dude, why don't you try to search for my nickname?
I've been in the FIFA Forum for more than 3 years now, editing the game, playing it... and I still do it, so I have all the right to be here as long as I wish.
I can edit and play both games as well as posting in both forums and compare both games. The fact is that I said that this year's game doesn't suck, it's very nice.
And about giving ideas of making it better... it seems you HAVE NOT read my posts, I have given LOTS of ideas of making it better, and actualy I AM ONE OF THOSE WHO MAKE THE GAME BETTER. And as far as I could see, you are not. So if one of us have to leave, it's not me dude.
Read before posting anything bro, because I wasn't criticizing FIFA or talking about how good PES is, I was just comparing both game's features and give ideas for the next FIFA.

BTW I've just tried PES this month because I have not a PS2, so I can't ssay that I am a PES fan yet.

Got it, dude? (H)

See ya!

Oh, I forgot to ask you... DID I CRITICIZE THE GUY OF THE FIRST POST BECAUSE HE SAID HE LIKED THE GAME? I think I didn't, because I like the game too. So DON'T come here saying what mods have to do or not, because no one offended you... but if you still have this attitude, sooner or later someone will.

See ya!

So basically if you were a mod they'd be a complete curtailing of freedom of speech except for those who agree with your opinion. Praise God for the mods we have then.

Mission is not accomplished, the AI needs to be fixed. You don't want the AI to play the same plays all the time, do you? Or may be you havn't noticed it yet. Well play it another day or 2, you will see what I mean.

Naa. it'd b a curtailing of the flaming that goes on - now i'm not saying that you 2 are the prime examples, in fact you actually seem to be making valid comments here and there. I was just voicing an opinion against the usual type of criticism so the other fanboy shouldn't get offended as he did...

in all honesty maybe i was wrong to pick on you 2 exactly, but at that point I had just had enough of seeing another person who liked the game getting attacked like that (even though you'll say that you were exercising your right of free speech)

So all in all, I'd say that it wasn't your arguments that annoyed me, but them being totally out of place, uncalled for, etc...in the end of the day you lot have been repeating the same stuff over and over again and frankly i think once is enough - makes me question your motives here - looks to me like you're trying to turn every thread into a negative one...

Therefore, yea, you SHOULD praise the God for the mods you have

If FIFA 05 will basically based on FIFA 04 and improving FIFA 04, that will be a good direction i'd say.

I hope in the future EA won't waste their license again and won't give us crap like FIFA 03.

Yes if EA works on the AI and fix some very importand stuff like ball physics, keepres.... it should be a good and playable game. But this year's fifa really its not playable.
