Tom....you are a gentleman mate

Kibe....thats ok, I dont expect you to understand anything.

Digi....Every Chelsea fan has already critisized Chelsea's (KENYON'S) handling of the Gallas affair, from as far back as a year ago when we all agreed that he should have been given a better deal, and generally treated better. I still think Kenyon was wrong to treat him as badly as he did. Sure Gallas has always been a whinger, we have always known that, but we believed that he had a case to answer. Kenyon didn't want to know until it was obvious that Gallas had had enough.By this time bad words had already passed between Gallas and Kenyon, resulting in Gallas refusing to play any more games for Chelsea.

The next game was the FA Cup semi final against Liverpool. Gallas was persuaded to play even though he was not happy to do so. Liverpool won that game, Gallas played like crap, and the winning goal went in off Gallas' head. Make of that what you will.

Approaching the summer of 2006, Gallas was offered everything he wanted, lots more money mainly. By then it was too late. He had decided rightly that Kenyon was a s.h.i.t and that he didn't want to stay at a club with a guy like that in charge. Who could blame him? Not the Chelsea fans thats for sure.

So fine, he says he wants out. Chelsea tell him that they want him to stay, but Gallas has his pride and he says "no thanks". So Chelsea tell him that if they recieve a good offer for him, then he can go, but until then he remains a chelsea player under a contract that he must abide by. Then comes the summer break.

Not one club comes in for Gallas. Not one. This frustrates Gallas even more because he thought every club in the world would fall over themselves to sign him. So to his hurt pride, now add a shattered ego. He is pissed big time.

During the World Cup,Tierry Henry tells him he should forget about going abroad and think about joining Arsenal who, he tells him, would be interested in signing him. Rumour has it that Henry and Gallas meet up with Wenger while they were all in Germany. Wenger tells him that Arsenal would indeed be interested and maybe could include Gallas as part of the Ashley Cole deal.
With the World Cup over, Gallas with his mind set on joining Arsenal, refuses to join up with the Chelsea players for their USA stint, citing tiredness.

He eventually returns to Stamford Bridge where he is asked to apologise to his team mates for letting them down. He refuses to apologise and then allegedly refuses to play for the club ever again, threatening to score an own goal or something similar if he is made to play. He tells the club that he wants to join Arsenal. Jose remembers the Liverpool game and decides that Gallas must be allowed to leave because he cannot trust Gallas any longer and his presence at the club is begginning to upset the other players too. Chelsea decide that he will be part of the swap deal for Cole.

The Gallas/ Cole deal gets done. That should have been the end of it. We the fans, not knowing what went on behind the scenes, and only having rumours and whispers to go by, began to blame Jose and Kenyon for completely messing up the situation. We were hoping at the time that Gallas would accept the deal offered and remain a Chelsea player. So the fans began asking the club questions, in the club forum, by email and through the fans panel. Still Chelsea said nothing.

If Gallas would have kept his mouth shut, we would never have found out anything about the finer details of his dreadful threats. Jose kept telling the press to insist with Gallas to give a press conference to explain why he was refusing to play for Chelsea but Gallas would not. So he moves on to Arsenal.

Then Gallas started slagging off the club, Jose and the fans. The next day he came out with more adverse comments. Chelsea then decided that the time was right to put the record straight. They informed the fans what transpired between Gallas and the club in those alleged conversations. The rest you know.

I believe that Chelsea were right to tell the fans the details of the Gallas saga. We had a right to know. We demamnded to know. The club gave in to our wishes. That is the right thing to do. That is what we wanted and we got it.

I would imagine that if any other club would have had this all happen to them, plenty of people would be supporting the club in question and at the same time voicing their disgust at the players behaviour. This is Chelsea and the hysteria surrounding Chelsea over any issue, has reached a ridiculous level now. It all started with Roman taking over the club and it increased as each week went by. Everything we did and anything we do is jumped on by the Chelsea hating media, which fuels the small petty minds of the Chelsea hating public. Its a shame but there it is.

So we are used to it. It's nothing new. Whatever we do will never endear us to anyone outside the Chelsea family. If the club would not have released their statement, we would still be targeted for something else, so thats why we do as we please. We owe nobody. We need nobody. If people want to support us in what we do then thats great. If not then thats great too. We do not ask for anything and we do not expect anything from anyone. Thats why all the critisism and the slagging off just goes right over our heads. We are immune to it and care not at all. If someone has a problem with Chelsea, then its their problem. We are not interested by it at all.

Concentrate on your own clubs and pontificate hypocritically over ours less. You waste your breath. We just do not want to know. Thats what annoys people the most I think. The fact that nothing can touch us. We are immune.

I read that after I had 12 pints and thought it was more opinion than fact, although you tried to dress it all as fact, and after I sobered up 8 hours later I still have the same opinion.

I'm not saying that none of the above is true, but it's all based on rumours and 'newspaper reports' and what the club had said against Gallas, and vice versa. We all know that Gallas shouldn't be trusted, and in the same way that PR men from football clubs, like politicians, should not be trusted.

I never said that every Chelsea fan thought their club is 100% right 100% of the time - and that was precisely my point. Your loyalty to your club is not affected by you criticising certain aspects of the club. Without criticism the club can never move on.

I still think Chelsea handled the situation poorly. It's got nothing to do with how Chelsea are hated or how they have won the last two Premiership titles. If Bolton Wanderers or Watford had done the same thing I would have thought of them as petty. If you are all trying to blame Kenyon then surely Abramovich should be blamed as well? After all it was him who hired him, and if he's unhappy with Kenyon opening his big mouth then he should sack him - it's not as if the Russian cannot afford to pay the severence cheque.

Well thats up to Roman mate. I'm sure he is aware what we as fans think about Kenyon. We don't know what Roman's relationship with Kenyon is like do we? If Roman loves Chelsea as much as he says he does, then maybe Kenyons days are indeed numbered. Can you imagine the hysteria when Kenyon finally gets the boot? There will be more silly stories about "Chelsea falling apart at the seams". Maybe Roman thinks that outsiders will make more of the issue than it deserves, and maybe he is adamant that he will not play into those small minded peoples hands.

You are entitled to your opinion just as I am entitled to mine. Thats not to say that I actually care what your opinion might be mate.
