HAMMERS TO LAND TEVEZ & MASCHERANO

Thelonious

I thought MSI was owned by an Iranian guy , I don't ambramovich has anything to do with it, If they both have a good season in England they'll be worth a lot more for MSI , suprising though.

Thelonious is spot on. A good season at West Ham and MSI stand to make a hell of a lot more money for them this time next year.

I know a lot's been said about Roman Abramovich and MSI, though Brazilian media believe that MSI owners are a bunch of shady Russian businessmen with no relation to Abramovich. More like Boris Berezovsky. I'm not sure about Roman and Boris' relationship, they could be friends, I guess...

Considering Berezovsky was intending to sue Abramovich in 2005, alleging he was pressuring him into selling his Russian assets off cheap, I doubt they're good mates. ;)

From 0utward appearences this is a business plan concocted purely to make MSI a shed load of cash.

Thanks for the Denilson correction, although you take my point that players from South America often get into European football very cheaply and then subsequent transfers are usually huge (Crespo as one perfect example).

:boohoo: Your club paid £18m for Carrick and are/were prepared to pay up to £17m for Hargreaves.

On a side note, the London derbies this season should be great games (Y)

Don't know how much involvement MSI and Roman had in this transfer, but i was very surprised to read this as well.

However, this is a good move to EVERYBODY:
West Ham-obviously, no need to even explain
Big Teams-they will see how the 2 fair in EPL and then decide whether that's what they need or not, because there have been a lot of GREAT South Americans coming to europe and flopping, so this way they will actually know exactly what they are getting, when they will be paying for those players.
Tevez and Mascherano-This is their chance to show everybody what they can do and in case something goes wrong and they won't settle in after first 5 games or something, they will still have the whole season to get back on track and prove their worth, while if they went to say Chelsea, bad 5 games would means almost certainly that your career there is over and much less interest from other clubs as well.
MSI-like previously said, this is their chance to get more money, but they might be taking a risk too in case one of the flops then nobody will want those players and they would lose out on some good money.

So, overall, this is a very big step for both players and in the right direction, instead of going straight into the thick of things at a big club, they have a year to show their worth, with a chance to rejuvenate themselves if something ****s up. After all, if those guys are as good as everybody is hyping them up to be, then i won't mind my club overpaying a little to get their services for sure.
