That means they kept that horrible thing that we've seen before. :kader:

To expand on that first touch issue, playing as Ajax I noticed Rafa Van Der Vaart also has enhanced first touch compared to his team mates.

One skill move I've managed to pull off on a regular basis is the sidestep. Everyone striker from Edson Buddle of Columbus Crew (though he also does the roulette amazingly!) to Fred of Cruzeiro can do that. It's not a guaranteed move, but it works often enough to be realistic.

I got Wesley Sonck doing a Cristano Ronaldo stepover too, but I'm yet to discover the science behind pulling it off regularly.

>> Do you know if there's a limit to how many players we can create per team?

No, I'm not sure. I tried the manual, but it's the most incomprehensive manual I've ever received with a game. They may as well have just put in a sheet of paper with "insert disc - play game".

>> Are holland on the game?

No. I'd love to know what the issue with licencing the KNVB is. The Eredivisie is properly licensed this time.

>> Does the game have licensed boots? e.g Nike 90's that sort of thing!

I haven't seen any.

>> Thanks for the player stats btw! you didn't see Andy Johnson's stats by any chance did you??

Johnson is 72.

>> could u post Toluca's (mexican league) stats

Two and a half stars. Cristante (60), Mendez (63), Da Silva (74), Vlades (64), De La Torre (65), Lopez (71), Chavez (67), Ponce (pronounced Pon-say, so all the English people can stop giggling now) (56), Zinha (70), Cardozo (79), Sanchez (71) is your 4-4-2 diamond starting XI.

i have two questions about the commentary

Do they mention the keeper's names at all this year?

Do they mention the name of the club more often in teh commentary, or just mention it occasionally if its a big name club?

thanx (Y)

thanks for taking the time to answer some of the questions all of us without the game may have. I have a couple to pose to you as well...
In league play outside of career mode (in tournament mode) are there cups included in the season, or do you have to play them seperately?
what are the ratings for Blackburn and the USA? (both overall and individual)

Thanks a lot ;)

Oops, I didn't realize the thread was moved into here, and more questions were asked. ;) I believe this was meant for someone else, but I'll answer anyhow. :p

I hadn't created any players yet, so I went out and started creating generic players and sticking them on Treviso (Italian Serie B). I made 5 generic players with no trouble, but on my 6th I was given a message that you can have a max of 30 players on any given team. I didn't see this to be a 'created player' problem, but just to be sure I transferred a real player to another team, and was able to create another player on stick them on Treviso with no complaints. I don't see any indication that there is a limit.

I don't see any Holland, sorry. Straight from Greece to Hungary.
I don't see any way to select different boots in create-a-player, and i don't know them well enough to tell visually. ;)

>> Do some of the Italian clubs have fake logos again?

I don't know what the real ones look like, but some of the lesser teams have badges that look awfully generic.

>> Do they mention the name of the club more often in teh commentary, or just mention it occasionally if its a big name club?

It's mostly "away team" and "home team" like last year. I don't think the improvement has been that big at all.

>> In league play outside of career mode (in tournament mode) are there cups included in the season, or do you have to play them seperately?

My guess is no. Like I said earlier, I can't find a way to even bring up the fixture list in tournament mode leagues (it's the X button in career mode) only in tournament mode cups have I been able to.

Right now I know this isn't in the ideas thread but i couldn't be bothered to look all that way back... but since I've heard mention of trophy celebrations here I thought i'd say why can't fifa's be as good as PES when it comes to trophies, there's a whole ceremony going on. On Fifa you just see a short group photo. And also wouldn't it be good to actually see scores of other games. This would be useful when you have to rely on other results. I had this difficulty on fifa 2003 when I had to beat Anderlecht and wait for other results. I ended up beating Anderlecht 6-1 and only knew I had won the league after I'd gone back to the league table.

I'm just toward the end of November now, with 10,362 in the bank. I'm already keen to sell off a 52ovr 26 year-old when the window opens again, so there's another 3,400 or so. I may trade my left attacker Massimo Marazzina, a 64ovr 30 y/o. He plays opposite of Omolade, and I'd like to get more of a playmaker up there to feed the Nigerian for better scoring chances. Selling off Marazzina would fetch me in the range of 7,000...so I figure to have 20,000-22,500 or so to spend when the time comes. My highest valued player right now is worth 10,201, so it'll be a huge move for the team to bring in a 20,000+ player to the team.

Well, I've reached January 1st. I went ahead and sold Marazzina, though I did so reluctantly. Amazingly, he scored a hat-trick in his final game with Torino, it's almost like he knew it was coming. ;)

After making several transactions (Selling off Marazzina and a few reserves, and buying a couple ~500 budget players to stay above the 18 fielder minimum to make transactions), I decided on purchasing Taylor Twellman. After coming to an agreement with his club on a ~26,000 price tag, Taylor had the audacity to turn down the club!! He said something about my experience as a manager, his career, blah blah, like I was even listening to that guy... (:/)

Since going after Freddy Adu would likely bring the sale of my stadium itself...I looked around for an alternative to fill my open spot up at striker. My original goal was to find a passer/playmaker to accompany Omolade. However, since my scouting is pure rubbish (I can only see stamina and 1 or 2 other attributes), and I wasn't going to go to the main menu and cheat by looking there, I searched high and low for a quality player in my price range.

My final decision:

So much for a playmaker! At 47 creativity and 64 passing, he won't be threading any needles to get it to Omo', but he instantly becomes the top player on my squad, by far. At 3.5/5.0 stars (80ovr), he's the only player above 2.0 stars I have. When I (hopefully) enter Serie A next season, I expect him to play an integral role on the team. Well, I'm scheduled to face 14th ranked Modena this week...hope they're ready for Heskey! :ewan:

Match Wrapup (Or: Heskey, Match #1) -

As rain fell on the pitch in Modena, Serie B leaders Torino debuted their newest player to an awe-struck crowd. Just hours earlier, the announcement was made that Liverpool agreed on a transfer of striker Emile Heskey to the Torino squad for just over 26,000$. While Liverpool made no statement as to their decision, Heskey did his talking on the field of play. Clearly the focus of the attack, Heskey had the ball frequently early on. However, his speed and ability with the ball was somewhat hampered by the soggy pitch, and the 2-3 Modeno players that blanketed him at all times. It didn't take long for Heskey to make an impact though. In the 32nd minute, Heskey charged up the left side of the field and put a strong shot on goalie Giorgio Frezzolini. Frezzolini couldn't handle the wet ball, and it bounced right back out to fellow striker Akeem Omolade for the first goal of the match. As Heskey celebrated with his new teammates, he couldn't have expected what was to come next. Just two minutes later, in the 34th minute, Omolade now found himself free on the side, and sent a gentle cross through the box for a wide-open Emile Heskey header...making it 2-0! The scoring subsided until the 84th minute, off a corner by Heskey, the ball was punched out by the keeper, and soon kicked right back in by midfielder Filippo Maniero to make it 3-0. That was the final, 3-0, as Torino goes back home with another victory under their belt. This is just the beginning for an hopeful club, still atop Serie B by a large 6-point margin over Catanzaro after 20 games played.

My apologies to Liverpool and Birmingham fans out there ;)

I remembered seeing Liverpool as I was searching for players, and it just so happens I saw pages about him in google (when I was looking for a pic) with Liverpool on them, I never gave it a second thought. :)

No wonder Liverpool had no comment! :amika:
