Haven't had them, didn't need them, don't need them now. I'm blessed with well aligned teeth, and they're very strong as well. I'm 22 and haven't had anything put in, added or removed from my teeth.

But braces are great, it's just that some people need to have for so long.

I got them when I was a small child. They're terrible in the beginning, but you get used to it. Actually, when they removed mine it was really strange having no braces.

I had them 6 years ago.

They feel very obstructive in the beginning. Your mouth gets sore at some spots. After you have had the braces for a day or two, it becomes impossible to bite anything. You'll have to live on liquids or very soft food for sometime.

Thats how it feels in the beginning.

After you have had them on for a couple of months, you get used to it. It doesn't hurt so much anymore. But everytime you go back to the orthodontist, he will tighten the wires little by little and your teeth will start hurting again for a couple of days.

Make no mistake about it; no matter what the doctor tells you, it will hurt a LOT. But its well worth it. I had a terrible overbite and couple of crooked teeth. I never smiled and barely opened my mouth while talking. My teeth are close to perfect now though (apart from couple of cavities ...but thats a different story)

so yeah, go ahead and get it done man.

i've got them at the moment:(

It kills for a week when you have them......then you get used to it and the bastard denist goes tightening it again which kills for another two days :(

I've got elastic bands going from the back bottom teeth to my front top teeth to pull my jaw forward aswell though :(

Its not so bad :D

I've never had them and the very thought makes me cringe. If I needed them, I'd rather have surgery on my teeth or something.

Yes ive had them and from what i remember, they do irritate the skin on the inside of your cheeks from what i remember. But also, i had an expansion brace also before i got the standard braces. It was designed to 'widen' the top jaw. It was very painful when it had to be tightened.

ughh..

I had to use those bands too.

I hated them! I always lost them..
When youre gonna eat, you have to take them off, so it kind of embarassing cause you're in front of everybody, with your hands in youre mouth, trying to get that thing off...

I used braces for almost 3.5 god damn years!

Braces suck, I hate them. I hate them! I also hated the appointments with the ******* dentist.

It feels awesome when you first take em off after all those years though...

I hate braces.

i had a bite plate, spreading device, braces, headgear, elastics and retainer, lol

:(

wore the bite plate, the spreading thing was glued to my teeth, wore the headgear for one night and my overbite fixed itself, never wore the elastics, braces only bother you the first time u get them and when they get tightened(and when u eat apples), i've yet to wear the retainer...and my teeth are perfect now(H)

I had them for about 4 years. Had to have 4 teeth taken out before I could get them though. There well worth it, I had loads of teeth which were sideways and unlevel, now I've got a reasonable set really, been told I have a nice smile a few times since.

I had them for 2.5 years (from sophmore until 1/2 of my senior year in high school)...the bands sucked. When they asked me what color i wanted my retainer I told them with a Madrid logo, but they said they couldn't, they could only put the drawings that they allowed from some pamflet they had....so i got mine with a Mexican flag on them:D

I had them when I was like 11 or 12 and I only had them for like 4 months.

Shame because the female orthodontists would rub their bodies against me :(

in Canada we have "universal healthcare" and my family still had to pay for them. the only people that get them for free are people that work for the government because of their benefits(like teachers)
