Scheveningen is cool. I live in Voorschoten which is right next to Leiden which is 30km from Amsterdam, 15km from The Hague/Scheveningen and 30km from Rotterdam (which isn't that great) so I'm pretty central to all the great cities and nightlife

Yeah i love Scheveningen so much. The beach is so great and its nice to sit and eat at the restaraunts on the beach, especially in summertime
Im pretty sure ive passed through Leiden on the train a few times, but i cant remember what it was like. Doesnt the Schiphol train go through Leiden, or am i thinking of another place? I can remember seeing Leiden on the big blue train signs that tell you where to go. Is it one or two stops away from Amsterdam?

Are they the same place but with a different name?
Why not only one name?

when i lived in Holland when i was little we lived in a house in Scheveningen, minutes away from a tram stop that would take us to The Hague in 2 or 3 minutes
then we moved overseas but we had family in Culemborg, then they moved to a nice little town called Leerdam in Gelderland

I was born in Woerden, which is close to Utrecht (the city) and is also in the province Utrecht. After that our family moved to Arnhem, which is the capital of province Gelderland. Now I live (on my own) in Maastricht, which is where I study. MOst of the locals hate us students, because we talk proper dutch in stead of that inbearable local dialect which is spoken over here.
