Well, I don't care, I probably won't have time to watch it anyway.

Vieri should be out injured or not.

Guys like Lucarelli, Bonazzoli, Di Michele, Tavano, Chiesa(old though).. are way better than him ATM.

I think Italy always get the right result.. But thats just about it..

Btw, van Basten doesnt rate Sneijder too? And Robben? Injured? Or is this an experimental side?
No, it's just that San Marco favors a midfield that has a central controlling midfielder. That's why Cocu is starting. If not for Cocu, Maduro would be playing.

If Sneijder plays, he'd be playing in Landzaat's position.

Here's the revised probably XI:

Van der Sar; Kromkamp, Vlaar, Mathijsen, Van Bronckhorst; Landzaat, Cocu, Van der Vaart; Castelen, Kuyt and Babel

Babel might start because of van Persie's injury and Castelen seems to be fit.

Meanwhile, Johnny Heitinga rejected by Jong Oranje (H)

A completely useless game for both sides with probably an even more useless result. Really, nobody should care about these stupid friendlies anyway. They only get players injured, nothing more. The G14 are completely right to protest against friendlies.

Vieri injured (Y)(Y)

Its a shame Totti is out, hes been in great form for club and country this season. At least Pirlo can get more involved in offence now.

Im guessing Lippi will either replace Totti directly with Del Piero, or switch to a flat 4-4-2 and play Zambrotta LM, and Grosso at LB. Id like Oddo to get place at RB, but Zaccardo seems to be in Lippi's preference. Fiore shouldve been called up over Diana.

based on form, Abbiati doesnt deserve to be playing, but I think he'll get this match and Amelia the Cote D'Ivoire one.

probable lineup:

Abbiati; Nesta, Cannavaro, Grosso, Zaccardo; Pirlo, Gattuso, Camoranesi, Zambrotta; Gilardino, Toni

Ill be surprised if Luca Toni doesnt score. Holland was probably the best team in WCQ in Europe (especially as they had a tough group), so I'll be happy with a draw.

hmmm, i find it odd that i know next to no names in the projected starting XI for holland.

i'll will take a wild guess and say that they have moved towards a youth revolution in the side. are any of the old guard still around or will be around come WC?

I know of them all except Cairo, no clue who that is, unless Vagegast is nicknaming someone (Babel) or something.

I thought Boulahrouz was first choice CB over Vlaar.

whatever, maybe im not too familiar with them, but its seemed to be working out for them.

I say Lippi follows suit and calls up, and starts Firmani, Palladino, Grandoni and Franceschini

No, Cairo is really Cairo. He's a player for Herta BSC and I did not even know him before this week.

He is but he's injured.

I hope Otto has studied Babel, he's the most predictable left-winger in the world (H)

Oddo isnt really known for his defensive presence at RB. I hope he starts, but i see Zaccardo getting nod over him.

Zaccardo's international credentials up to now:

not a factor at all going forward, all flank offence is on left when hes playing (Zambrotta). Was at fault for Italys last two conceded goals (comically against Ireland) and scored the winner in Slovenia. Still dont think hes up to NT quality though. *** Panucci ***

i dont know why, but I think Gattuso will have a similar game tommorow that he did against Juve this season. and by that, i mean being a ruthless f*cking animal and dominating the midfield and having the entire dutch team wanting his blood.

I guarentee an Italy victory, just based on the fact that Holland will be sympathetic enough when they see Italys new away top that they'll throw the match. :(
