Street football is popular in many parts of the world.

The pitches shown in the goal clips are public grounds in parks built by governments. There are a few in every district. Just like street basketball in the States, we simply have football pitches next to the basketball hoops.

Brings back memories. There's a street football culture in Hong Kong. Many retired old men play and they're pretty darn good

haha. simple yet effective.

If you listen to the "commentatory" from the crowd, a guy said "barn big harm"
which means "pretend to be Beckham"

heh

meh, street football?

I prefer grass:D

It's pretty expensive to tend grass fields.

And in Hong Kong fields are non-existent. Artificial turfs and grass fields are available but you'll have to pay for playing in them most of the time.

Hard surfaces are fine, it's just like indoor soccer.

Yep you get used to it. My soles are tough because of that. I've had so many blisters and bunyons throughout my "football career". :D

I went to Hong Kong a couple of years ago, on the way back from the Aus/NZ.

There are a ton of those street courts. It's awesome. Many of them are lighted, and just write in the middle of the city -- great stuff!

My buddy and I managed to join in a couple of games. I wish they had those here.:hump:

Hey I think that pitch in the 1st clip is exactly the place I played in when I visited Hongkong lol, my hotel was 2 blocks away and there was a MacDonalds a few blocks down from that pitch where I always went to.

What was the pitch called again garlei? I know its name in Mandarin but not English or Cantonese.

I remember playing there with some kids in the afternoon then those teams come and play in the evening, it was cool, like a real stadium.

Good memories those were.:)

I don't know where exactly the places are apart from the last one. I'm pretty sure it's right in the middle of Mong Kok. It's the pitch where tournaments are held.

Help?

Fan Favourite
Those are some nice goals. And the pitch is pretty cool too, wish they had those in Canada :( ! It a lot more fun to play on that kind of court, then just normal grass field imo.
