I really don't understand negative reviews for this game. For years reviewers have slagged off Fifa for churning out the same old rubbish for years with only minor improvements and behing far far behind pro evo. I, and think justifably so have been one of them because up until now this has been the case.
This time, EA have not churned out and update. This time, they've done what has been asked hence i am totally bemused with any negativity.
Fifa 360 is a completely new game, one that gives practically everything that has been asked for over the years. It's so different and so right, I can understand that it won't be everyone's cup of tea but if reviewers aren't happy surely they can see that EA with this one have put everything into this and really had a go.
For me, this beats pro evo hands down and I've always been a pro evo supporter. It plays superbly on the pitch, the right pace, passing is fantastic and players are no longer static waiting for the ball to reach them. You can jostle and run in front of players to intercept. It's fluid, and never pi$$es you off due to the game engine. The ball mechanics are the best I've seen. Deflections can go anywhere and may just drop just in front of your player to whack into the back of the net. Momentum and team chemistry really adds to the game to, it's true. If your on top of the game, opposition players are capable of losing it, keeping up your momentum. It really has to be seen to be believed and brings it a lot more in line with real football than pro evo. Pressure really does hit in, capable strikers can blaze over the bar or midfield generals hitting bad passes when the momentum of the game is against them. Superb
But off the pitch is also much better, the commentry is the best yet but have they got the crowd chants bang on? You bet. Not only that, this is what impresses me even when I play lowly Everton. When I score, after the commentators have praised the excellent finish, when the balll kicks off after the centre, if you listen carefully you can hear on the loudspeaker 'And the goalscorer for Everton.....number 9......James Beattie. What an amazing touch, I can understand this sample for players like Rooney and Ronaldinho but for Everton players like Beattie and Johnson etc. It's just such an amazing touch.
I was originally dissapointed with the lack of leagues, but at the end of the day, the ones I would play with are there and I'd rather the lack of leagues with the increased player detail that the game holds.
This has wowed me, since first play and a week down the line, I'm still finding new things to make me smile.
I never thought I'd be saying this anytime soon but Fifa has really arrived.
But as the headline says 'Why the negativity?' If it's not your cup of tea, surely you can see the difference and say well done for going back to square one. Whatever, this game rocks like no other fifa before it
