How do you like the DEMO?

2 - The nets are still unrealistic in their movement and looking at the goals I'm pretty sure they are too small to be in scale with the players.

5 - No heading crisis yet which is a HUGE plus.
6 - Movement off the ball seems a lot better although defensively you have to question the positioning of players at times (this is also true for PES3/WE7 though).
7 - Shooting is a little too fast, even the slow shots are about what a normal hard shot would be.
8 - The deflections are a little too fast as the ball would not accelerate away faster than the original speed the ball travelled at.
9 - The graphics are very good. Top notch. The faces have great details and the uniforms are beautiful.
10 - The refereeing seems very random. There hasn't been any consistency at all in the games I've played.
11 - Collision mapping isn't very accurate at times.
12 - I like the cut scenes, very nice.
13 - Crowd sounds are great.
14 - The atmosphere is very good, almost nothing could be improved in this area.
15 - Passing is a 100% improvement over last year.

Overall, impressive. I will buy the game based upon this demo unles I find serious gameplay issues over the next few days. A good job and definitely a step in the right direction. It still doesn't play with the fluidity of WE7/PES3 and it doesn't have the "feel" yet that the Konami titles have but EA have buried the ghost of FIFA 98 and I'd say this is their best FIFA title to date. If they improve this next year too then there will be very little to choose between EA and Konami in terms of gameplay.

Good job EA. I'm impressed.

Above everything,...i wanted reviews of WE fan boys like you and BhOy...because i have played WE6,,,and i know how good it is....much better than 2003. When u 2 said that the game has improved a lot overall,,, then i can be in peace with myself.

i just lobbed in a corner andi made the blonde guy (i live in america... we dont watch soccer on tv) charge in front of his defender and volley it just of the top post before the ball even touched the ground......finally ea put something into the game that theybe been missing for 4 years..........................................................fun

Demo is kinda sucky.
At least we have headers now. Hard to do, but they are there...

Otherwise:
-unsynchroinized ball/body movements. The replays show that perfectly.
-super easy to score. every shot on goal I make goes in.
-sluggish, irresponsive controls
-stupid fouls system
-graphics nothing special...
-plays very much like ISS3

I hope PES3 is good...

The "feel" of the game is still behind WE/PES but it is a step in the right direction. The fludity of the game and ball physics are definitely not as good as WE7/PES3 but compared to previous FIFA's this is big step forward. The only thing that I've found a little annoying so far is that it's too easy to score from long range efforts and the shots are too hard. The rest of the game seems improved.

I'd say FIFA still has a couple of years before it ctaches up with WE7 but given after FIFA 2003 they were about 6 years behind this is a firm step in the right direction.

I´m surprised. i thought it would be much better...and that it would take me at least a couple of days before spotting the stuff that are annoying (no game is perfect). But after only a couple of games i´ve noticed quite a few things that could totally break the experience for me.

1. The camera modes. Terrible. What´s the point of all this off the ball stuff when you can´t get a good overview of the pitch?
2. Player still freezes when you pass the ball. I feel like Xavier of the X-men are on my side out there...
3. Players sometimes get away from you when you assume control
4. the freestyle control...it´s the same as last year. Okay...this is no game breaker...but it sure isn´t good either.
5. Slow passing. But maybe I haven´t figured out the system yet.
6. Very easy to score...the goalie is what he usually is...drunk.


All this aside...it´s an improvement in many areas...but it´s still not good. I feel very dissapointed since I was so loooking forward to this game!

But maybe it will grow on me. I hope so at least!

WE7 it isn't, but it definitley is not FIFA 2003 all over again.
Good
- first time passes are good (high volleys etc)
- Send player on a run button works well ( as long as your aim is good, had my CBs chargin forward alot early on)
- Keepers have been improved
- Visuals are superb
- Ref seems to get it spot on for me
- Some of the animations are great, the couple of time I have tried to barge their striker off the ball in the box (using D tackle) have looked like fouls from the side line and definite penalties in the replay.

Bad
- AI corners always go to the man you are marking, not such a big problem now seeing as I still don't really know what I'm doing but after a while they I think theyll become monotonous
- Sluggish response(compared to WE7) but much better than 03
- Like many ppl feared it seems EA's OTB is to make up for the lack lustre AI movement...watch your team when one of your full backs has the ball..completely stagnant
- Superman Keeper animations are still in there
- Players in the wall jump about 2 secs before the player kicks the ball...my wall was back on the ground before the ball passed over their heads and into the top corner
- Defensive AI seems a bit shaky

ok this has come off being a bit negative but it's really surprised me how good it is (or how crap its not? )and I haven't been able to enjoy a FIFA game since 98. Can't wait to see how PES3 PC stacks up to it.

I know I havent posted much but ive just tried the new demo and got a few comments.

I feel like I have absolutely no control of the players Im supposed to be controlling. The long passes dont go where i want them to go and the players responsetime are way too slow. Other small bad things, I've noticed:

- Sometimes a player may chase the opponent who has the ball, but why does he look the other way while running/chasing?
- Ball physics/movement still isnt as realistic as the one in WE/PES
- Goalnets are like a stonewall
- I dont like the OTB control. It seems unrealistic.
- Very bad CPU defense AI. I could stand still halfway up their half and noone would go near me. I could pass back and forth between 2 and 3 players easily...no reactions from the cpu defense.
- Sometimes when about to take control of a player, he wanders off in the wrong direction making it almost impossible to catch the ball.
- Whats with that "thing" going across the stadium (in the air)?? This isnt basketball/hockey!
- Demo related only. But I got extremely annoyed when i installed the game (multitasking to another program while it did that) and then suddenly the demo automatically begins, screwing up my windows.

In general, its not very fluid. I'm definately sticking with WE/PES - i was very open to this years FIFA and was happy about all the good comments earlier in the forum. But no, this game wont be bought by me.

I like the demo but I was really looking forward for the career mode and after the match it says: 5 years carrer mode.

Only 5 years! that's a fu*king s*it!

you can not consider 5 years a career mode.

The game's less scripted? How come all the goals I've seen so far are same like these from ea videos? no kidding remember this one? I even complained somewhere that GK lays down to save it. Yes, it will curl into left top corner. Even though the overal gameplay has improved I think, it's soo boooring to watch same goals all the time.
